Grats to all the winners!
I missed the Nokia theater, but otherwise it was a great show.

Re: Anime Expo 2011 Anime Music Video Contest Finalists List
Was around but didn't see the contest or even the room in which the contest was held. So I can't comment too much outside of the entries I later saw on youtube. AMTV-Pro needs to be redefined as the videos that I saw in that category didn't meet the literal specs as written. I however stand alone with that and thus so be it. Audience isn't going to vote objectively according to the specifications of the categories, which is something they can't be blamed for. So my 2 gripes would be fixing/redefining AMTV-Pro. And if the cash prizes are returning to cut them down to 1/10th their current volume.
IC/Prof stuff had issues with audio, which I'm sure will be addressed in the future. So not even really worth mentioning. IC programming needs a little more work when it comes to entertaining the crowd but doing things like the train wreck on the fly shows flexibility and potential.
All in all I got a pretty vertical slice of it all without actually "officially" attending. So aside from the things mentioned above things seem to be going into a slightly more positive direction.

Just got back from the con.
Creator's Award went to: “Your Daily Dose Of Potassium” by Radical_Yue
Congrats yue!
Pretty strong contest this year aside from one or 2 miscategorized (but still well edited) videos.
I hope Nekokitkat made it out of AX safely.

What were the two you figure were misplaced? That and a few videos were quite OLD. I wish AX would put an age limit of premiere in line almost every other contest doesCastor Troy wrote:Just got back from the con.

I thought Mashup Gatari and one of the other Fun videos belonged in Pro, and I think one of the Actions (or was it a Pro?) belonged in comedy?
This might just be me but I thought the one that was a manga belonged in an MMV contest .

I'm with dad on this. It's not going to take long for AMV creators to realize AX has a money prize and allows older videos and then a huge influx of them will be submitted. That would be fine and all, but it means "new" and "local" videos will be bumped out and I personally dislike that.Vlad G Pohnert wrote:That and a few videos were quite OLD. Congrats to all the winners. You all deserved it. My big disappointment was that I wasn't able to see the the awards ceremony due to the line being so long that most people who waited couldn't go in XD.
