OK kids, just heard back from the HMFIC (look it up) so I'm ready to announce the contest finalists. I will only list studio names. If you want to say which AMV you entered, by all means go for it, but please don't "blow it" for anyone else if you know what they sent in!

If the results look...interesting...it's because I took Scintilla's advice and ran everything blind this year, which lead to some pleasantly surprising results. I see people that I don't know making the finals list, and creators that I'm familiar with, not doing so. I didn't realize just how much a name can carry an entry until this year, and I can't imagine going back to a non-blind pre-screening format after seeing this year's results.

This list is in whatever random order SQL spit the list out, so look carefully for your name.

So what's the difference between not making the cut and being disqualified? Those that didn't make the cut will get badges for them and 2 friends that will allow them to skip lines before AMV events and sit in the cool-kid seats. Those who were disqualified do not get this privilege. To get your badges, hang around an AMV event while everyone else is queuing up and let someone who looks like they're in charge know that you'd like to pick up your AMV creator badge from Vic. Spec Ops will have a list of qualifying names and if you're on it, waltz on in, grab your badge, and go enjoy the rest of the con knowing that we're holding seats for you The badges are good all weekend. Info Desk/Registration will have no idea what you're talking about if you ask them for one, so don't bother.

The schedule is NEVER final, but right now here's what it looks like in reference to the cool events, AKA: AMVs:
Friday 11AM - 2PM - Video 1 - AMV Overflow 1
Friday 5PM - 7:30PM - Video 1 - AMV Contest
Saturday 9AM - NOON - Video 1 - AMV Overflow 2
Saturday 3PM - 5:30PM - Video 1 - AMV Contest
Saturday 7PM - 10PM - Panel 3 - Iron Editor
Sunday 12:30PM - 3PM - Video 1 - AMV Contest Encore (No voting)
