YESSSS! And in my 1st year of AMV making, too. (fingers crossed... could I be one of those "miracle rookies"?)
Well I think I can die happy now  Or at least go to med school happy. And since I won't have any sort of a life for the next 4 years I guess they're the same thing
I made my best videos within my first year.

Then I started working :(

can't wait! And I'll be going to Otakon for the first time, too, so it will be awesome to see the contest firsthand for a change! X3

It'll be my first Otakon too! I saw the AMV contest intro from last year on YT and decided I HAD to be there to experience it.

That's the first year they went all out like that if I remember correctly.

The new intro debuted last year, yes. And as I sat in my seat, watching it, I realized just how much I had to learn about video editing. LOL. =0

Yeah, the intro was, in my opinion, the best edited video in the entire contest last year... And my AMV was in the contest too. :( It's a damn cool video, but I've never been able to decide whether it's for better or worse when the intro is so top notch.

I think it's for the better. My video was in that contest too (and I thought my video this year was MUCH better than that one, so the contest is going to be fierce, it would seem!) and I was just honoured to have my video featured in the intro, LOL!

I think it gives great incentive to keep going. I look at that video like I look at a great guitarist - I'll probably never be that good, but I want to try. =0

That's exactly how I feel! I watched the intro on YT and I decided that I *HAD* to be one of the finalists this year, the part in the intro where the sun rose up behind the earth and illuminated the words '38 FINALISTS' ... I'd actually have to call that a pretty defining moment in my AMV-making career.

Yeah, I will probably break down and shed some tears of joy when I see the '34 FINALISTS' sign this year :D I guess that'll be one of the ways you guys can identify me at the AMV contest showing

Gratz to all who made the cut.

Looking forward to be one great AMV show!

OMFG DIDN'T MAKE TEH CUTTTTTTT

...and I only have myself to blame :P. Didn't finish my video. This is either the first or second time I don't have a video at Otakon. It's gonna feel...weird :P. Anyway congrats to the finalists and good luck. I'll see a number of you in Baltimore in two weeks! 8-)

(especially looking forward to the Romance category *cough*)

Edit: I made myself sad now that I realize I didn't make a video this year :(.
