I've been "stalking" the entries with SuperSearch. I've found a few finalists... impressive work everyone! :D Congrats to all my fellow finalists, and I can't wait to see the ones that haven't been posted here yet in person!

Also, offtopic, but... :nono: this smiley makes me think of Manfred von Karma.

well two years in a row I didn't make it, that just gives me more motivation to make a rocking video next year.

for us non-finalists, will be find out which overflow our videos will play at?
This is how I see things:
A bad AMV makes it look easy
A good AMV makes it look fun
A great AMV makes it look hard
However, the best AMVs make it look impossible

Didn't figure my entry would make it in but I figured I'd throw one in anyway for shits 'n giggles. Too bad my computer issues (and the endless task that was editing AMV Salad 3) prevented me from submitting anything new.

On that note, since I am a fully-operational and functioning editor again, I am about 75% through a WTF/comedy/upbeat video which I won't be able to compete with until probably Katsucon in February. I only compete for cons I actually attend or am not staffing. ;) That's okay, though, because it gives me plenty of time to do the (ugh!) keyframing work that's gonna comprise the majority of time this video's completion requires. I'll also be loaning it to the "Suggestions" forum to pick up any advice and wisdom to help make it as viewable and maybe even more WTF as possible.

Ah, well...another year in the overflow room...

Spec Ops will have a list of qualifying names and if you're on it, waltz on in, grab your badge, and go enjoy the rest of the con knowing that we're holding seats for you :) The badges are good all weekend. Info Desk/Registration will have no idea what you're talking about if you ask them for one, so don't bother.

OK, for non-finalists, the entries are all dumped into one playlist sorted alphabetically by studio name. This means that if your studio name starts with something close to A, you'll be one of the first videos played during the Friday overflow. If it's close to Z, count on being one of the last videos on Saturday. If you're somewhere in the middle, I have no clue. I'm just stopping the playlist after 3 hours on Friday, and continuing where I left off on Saturday. If you show up and say "hi, I made this video" then regardless of where you are in the list, I'll bump your entry up to the next spot so you can see it and go back to doing con-stuff, whatever that is. I will not play videos that have already been shown, even by request. Disqualified entries will play at the very end of the Saturday overflow screening, assuming there's time.

I didn't see
rheddog on any list, and that's probably a good thing. Last time he entered, his video played and got resoundingly booed at the end. I booed it as well but I didn't expect so many others to join in. It was amusing in a morbid way... :P
