Well, I'll tell you what, if you want to enter LOTA into Animethon's AMV Contest, then I'll just take it from AE's as I already did al the leg work for you and made a high quality mpg2 in 720x480 as a letterboxed version from the file you send me.. I can even give you that version (I figured as much when I rendered it into Mpeg2 that is was suppose to be in 16:9) so it's garanteed to play letterboxed as it did at Anime EvolutionRider4Z wrote: i really appreciate all your support, brad. and i appreciate all the creators for awarding me your favorite. i don't think i'll be entering LOTA into anything else tho. at least not for a while, or unless i can export a version letterboxed. (i know there are programs that'll let me convert x264 but i guess i'm to lazy to bother with it, when i should just save a large xvid version for safe keeping)

There is no script. A script will be created when you open it, but you don't NEED a script to open it.
You go to File.
You select open via avi synth.
Change the template to Direct Show Source.
If it doesn't show up, change it to "All Files" so you can select it. (The mp4 that is )
Just like I said first time.

No, insofar as Premiere Pro 7.0 does not exist. Premiere Pro so far has only gotten up to version (CS)4.Rider4Z wrote:it's x264 in mp4 container. i've asked around but never got an answer that works: is it possible for me to import an mp4 into premiere pro 7.0?

Re: TheAX AMV Contest 2009 Finalists are...
Well, as one of the winners at AX, I did not really want to comment too much on the Death Note Rhapsody video; however I will sum it up more or less as to what I think using it as an example.
I don't see anything wrong with it winning Best of Show as it was what the audience found to be their favorite of the show, so regardless of editing errors, etc, it what the audience found the best... Maybe if the audience is to pick their favorite, it should just be called audience Favorite or Audience Choice and get rid of Best of the show title as that would actually conform more to the rest of the titles (Staff Favorite, Judges Choice, etc)
Now as to the category, I see it like this:
If your judges are determining the category winners, the I would be more inclined to keep it in the category the creator wants it in as that is how they see the video (unless it is so obviously wrong) as then the judges SHOULD judge it on the category merits (and thus on it's dramatic elements and that's it)... This is pretty much the way the contest I run are judged for categories and it works well.
If however you are going to judge it to determine finalists and them let the audience choose it, I think the judge’s job should be to be much more "picky" on where it truly best belongs. In this case it was sort of a hard choice as there are Dramatic elements mixed in with a few humor parts... However if I was a judge I would of been more inclined to suggest comedy as I think those parts seem to be it's better strengths and as a Drama video it would not of been my first choice at all as there were better choices out of the finalists.
In terms of having both Judges and Audience choices, I think in some ways that adds in too many winners and reduces the amount of choices to keep the total winners down in some cases… I think if upbeat/Fun was added, have pro category done by the judges if it is defined the way it is and make best of show just Audience Favorite, then I think that would make the contest much better and still continue to have the uniqueness of how AX does it. Otherwise I like the contest the way it is done…

Death Note Rhapsody should have at least won in it's intended respective category (comedy) and THEN won best of show through there.

Look at the actual version numbers rather then the Creative Suite numbering.
