J. Alana you're not getting the point at all. It doesn't matter if you've been here for 2 months or 4 years, what shows in your amvs is your skills as an editor, not how long you've been here. You will be praised for making a good video even if you only joined today and you will get crapped on for making a piece of shit even if you joined when the org started.

What makes a Pro is skill, not length of time being here.

YES! You are right. Thats what I am trying to say. Newbie AMV Creators can be pro's. However, I've seen many put down because they are new and have been told "you don't have enough experience to comment."

That is what this contest is about.

Here's what it boils down to. If you want to enter, fine. If you don't want to enter, don't. If you want to bitch and moan and cry because you don't like something, goodie for you. If you want to flame and be unreasonable then fine do so.

The contest is going to go on. I don't care if you like it or don't like it. I don't care what you say or don't say.

This contest will go on

Take that and do with it what you will.

Booyah!

This isn't a hard concept if you think about it for five minutes.

The point of a contest is to grant recognition to the best. This is obvious, and this is what you have stated.

Recognition is nothing if it is granted by an entity without the credibility to grant that recognition. This should have been obvious before, and I hope it's blindingly obvious now.

--

Your contest is free to go on, and people are still free to enter it.

However, I think it's been sufficiently discredited by now.

oooo, what a nasty little comment you made!

As I said, I am not the only person running the tourny. I just happen to be the person answering the most questions.

The contest will be judged by a panel of well known AMV makers who I feel fit the mold of the word "pro." Since I am devoting time to be an organizer along with four other people, I am not judging. The rules and regulations were decided by those four, myself amoung them.

I'm not arguing this point with you any longer. This contest will go on. You either have the option to shut up or continue to complain which will fall upon deaf ears.

Which is it going to be?

People, just let the contest go it's way and the way the creator of it wants it to be. If it fails, then Alana will have to admit that she was wrong. Neither of you will get anything nor loose anything if this contest doesn't succeed. By these rules I can enter right :P? I'll finish my new video soon and most likely enter. It'll be a shocking release fer sure 8) .

One question though:

How can Kakarot 420 be a "pro" judge? Seeing his video I don't actually think that's a "pro" video (nothing personal, just a notice) or that those are "pro" skills :?. What if you get an entry that obviously shows more skill than anyone of the judges's videos? What are you gonna do then? Who are the other judges btw? AD, Koop, JBone?

Whats the point of competing if you are not competing against the best
When you are new you aren't supposed to win contest (unless you are make really good videos) But you enter them so they can help you learn from your mistakes.
My newest video: Semper Fi
The two before that: To Be Strong, This is how a man should be!!
