Well...I e-mailed someone about this question...but I am impatient right now as I want to get this done and out of the way so I can do other stuff.
I know the challenge AMV must be 60 seconds EXACTLY…IE in the rules it says if we are over or under by 1 second, we lose 10% of a mark. My question is this. Is there lee-way for human error on a stopwatch?? IE the person timing might start a bit late or end it a bit late. Do you account for this? The reason I ask is that currently, my AMV is 1;00;15 in premier. That equates to 1 min and ½ a second. Will I be deducted marks for this ½ a second or do you only deduct marks for a full second over/under? I would like to know if I need to cut my song a bit more.
As is it looks pretty damn good (IMO) and I could cut out half a second without much problems. Just want to know if it is safe to leave it in or if I should just take it out.
Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I think that extra 1/2 second is probably fine. My video is 00;59;29 but when you actually watch it (with a standard watch from when the clips/music starts to when it ends) it comes out to being 1 minute. Although I guess you can never be too careful. Maybe you should take out the extra 1/2 just in case (and I should probably find somewhere one frame to add )

Just to clarify, we take marks for every full second that the video is over/under 1 minute, so a 1:00.56 video would be okay. This is to allow for errors like human reaction times. But you could still have a 1:03 video or a 0:57 video, just expect to be docked severely in the penalty category.
(As an aside, the novice race was really close last year. The winner and runner up were seperated by 1% of their total mark.)
A little over two weeks to go people!

Well. I just mailed the 2 vids I am entering already. But now I am scared about whether one of them will show. Some people said the video was good, others said it wasn't that great and was boring. So just to be sure, I entered the novice category...However all I really care about is if my vid is shown.
My challenge AMV on the other hand has gotten a LOT of good reviews but no bad ones. So I am happy about that.
Just a question, How many vids on average do you show from each category...and how will the challege AMV's be shown. All at once with the other vids or are you going to split it up or what?
Well. Guess not much to do now but wait...Good luck to everyone else ^_^
