I don't know if this is the one you mean, but I searched for Kingdom Hearts and Anime North and found this.

Jumping on this thread a little late. But here's my 2 cents.

I was surprised at some of the the amvs that made the finals, and especially surprised at the best in show. There seems to be an over abundance of the same type of videos (sidenote: and I can't wait for the novelty of AMV hell like videos to wear off). There seemed to be a whole lot of novice finalists.

Overall, the video quality of the entries was much greater than last year. If anything though I thought Jethro and FallChild's amv's deserved more props.

Anyways that may sound like a lot of complaining, but in truth I had a ton of fun and thought it was a great comp. See you all there again next year.

Congrats to everyone who made it to the finals!

QFT.

Anyway, the AN AMV contest always, in some ways premieres the most interesting AMVs so I take interest when the winners are annouced. So congratulations.

The, er, drama is uneeded though. Why be cocky about it, you should be happy. x_X

Because when you are the greatest of the great, the best of the best, you can be cocky and talk down to even Absolute Destiny and Ermac.

I wonder who will get that reference...two people here should at least, for certain.

I was also surprised (but not in a negative way) to see several Weird Al videos. (three, was it?) There used to be complaints of overuse, but I haven't seen him used this much in a contest for a while.
Yeah, it is mostly drama or non-upbeat songs that get shown at AN regularly. I was thankful for the change in that.
I was a little uneasy about using Weird Al for the very reason you mentioned (complaints of overuse), but this was my second idea for any AMV ever, which had been with me for about 3 years, and I figured it was about time to just do it get it out there.
I was also impressed with the other 2 Weird Al AMVs, both of which were fun and creative. I havn't seen an AMV using one of his polka songs that only featured a single anime throughout every segment before O_o.

QFT.
is that a "WTF" with a Q?

anyways, my reasoning is that parody trailers just take from the orignal trailer and then replace everything with anime and w/e to recreate it in anime form. So it lacks orginallity in my book.

HOWEVER, trailers that are made from scratch, get props in my book cause they pose some great challenges.

Ahh, both years you've managed to find really funny stuff and it's boggled my mind.
