Well it wasn't started specifically for my family. I started making AMV's and the siblings (as always) followed me like puppy dogs and thought they'd make videos too. I was using the name Rose Studios because it was an old thing I used to put on my PowerPoint "vids" before I discovered music videos. And since we were all video makers who personally knew each other, we decided to all be Rose Studios.
Then BlueWolfNinja, a friend of my sister's, decided he'd get aboard the gravy train, even though he doesn't make videos that often.

Good. Now that all that's cleared up, let's get back on task ^.^ I'm pleased to see so many people responding to my contest and I look forward to your submissions

Well, I'll compromise with you. Seeing as this thread only became popular a week after it was posted (meaning more people are paying attention to it) and the Snow White round has started, I'll push the deadlines back a week.

That's why I posted this thread a week before the contest was to start, that way people could gather their ideas and start working without being rushed. But a lot of people who are just now checking out the thread since it's become popular are like, "Whoa! I've gotta hurry!"

So, the new deadline for the Snow White round is September 4th, 2006.

But if you've already made your Snow White video and you're confident it can't get any better, then go ahead and send it in. If you think this extra week will help you to improve your video, then go ahead and improve it, just as long as you send it in before Sep. 4th.

^.^

You Send It

Post by Dezbo21 » Tue Aug 22, 2006 8:24 pm

I was just going over the rules again since I have a submission ready, and I came across this statement

The best way to do it, is to use YouSendIt, a free online mailing service that allows you to send up to 1GB via email, and it stays available for 7 days (that’s why the cut-off dates are weekly). Click to go to YouSendIt
They will only let you send 100MB for free anything else you have to pay for. I have yet to find a service that will allow more than 100MB for free. I would appreciate if anyone could clue me in since we have to use whole songs on this contest, and you want them uncompressed?

Ain't gonna happen.

I'm sending my under 100MB submisson, but I was only able to get it there by not cleaning it up.

So, its not the best it could be but it does meet the "Medium" quality guideline.

Just thought I'd clue you into that issue since the only way I found out about it was when I tried to send my video. xP

Am I the only one with this issue?

Thank you. Typo on my half. It's been updated to:

"YouSendIt, a online mailing service that allows you to send up to 100MB via email for free, and it stays available for 7 days (that’s why the cut-off dates are weekly). "

You're mistaken. YouSendIt allows you to send up to 1GB. You just need to sign up which is free

I'll check it out and update if necessary

I do have an account. when you sign up for free, it's called
You send it Lite. Which only allows 100MB for free or you can send up to a 2GB download for 2.99 each or sign up for their monthly plans. Which are so not free.

It will load the file, then tell you it will const money if you want to continue.

Then there's alway the possiblity you may have something higher than the free account.

It loaded my original file then asked me to either upgrade or pay the pay per transfer fee.

Quote from website:
**Lite account users can pay $2.99 to send a file up to 2 GB in size. Simply upload your file as usual and select the pay-per-use option to complete the larger file transfer.
And I thought nobody read these.

I see. Then, the service that I've seen that allows the most MB to be uploaded would be filefactory.com with 300MB.

I'm trying to send my biggest file (115 MB) through FileFactory right now. Running on a cable modem, it says it's going to take an hour at the least. I'll keep updating this post as it changes.

UPDATE: (10:33pmCST) Okay, if you use FileFactory, you have to post the URL to your video in another email because it won't send to me otherwise. I checked my email inbox and there wasn't a thing there. Luckily I kept the URL it gave me and I'm downloading it right now. It says it'll take half an hour. After I make sure it downloads all right, I'm going to see if I can send that same 115MB through YouSendIt.

UPDATE: Ok, it's confirmed. YouSendIt only allows 100MB, whereas FileFactory allows over 100. So for those of you with LESS THAN 100MB, use YouSendIt

For those of you with MORE THAN 100MB, use FileFactory, but REMEMBER TO EMAIL/PM ME THE URL TO YOUR VIDEO
