gaahhhhtcha.
I hope this thread is not dead...
Damn I feel if I enter the contest again this year that I won't make it in.
Compared to 200-400 AMVs what are the chances?
How do first-timers make it in with a few other hundred videos that didn't?

I need some advice here... Confused
i entered a video back in 2004 that didn't make it in. but that was my first time at expo, AND my first time seeing amvs of such quality i was blown away
so after watching several videos and going to expo one more time, i entered 2 videos last year, and both made it into the show.

now i'm not saying you should copy what you see, but get a feel for what really drives an audience. i wasn't surprised that one of my videos made it in, however i was really surprised about the other one, because i really didn't feel it deserved to be among the rest, but james and katy apparently felt differently.
you never really know. jus' do your best ^_^

Plus food places will be a nightmare to get to with the traffic. Unless you wanna pay for the overpriced hotel food and fancy restaurants. :x

Actually, there's been a LOT of additions since AX was last there. Across the street from the Hyatt is a really nice shopping center with a few fast food places, arcades, and whatnot. A little further off but still within walking distance are some very nice restaurants as well.

I rather like the Long Beach venue. If only the LBCC were larger, it'd be my wish that AX remain there.

I sent off my videos this morning. (Happy sigh of relief). I've been trying to balance video editing with costume making and bjd stuff, along with other duties and work and such. Now to hope my videos make the finals. (Crosses fingers)
