Well this is the first year for it right? I'm sure people were itching to get them in. I'm also curious about trailer/parodies

Technically yes, technically no. The "Drama" category is kinda where they usually ended up landing in.

As you probably would gather, a Romance vid competing in the same category as a Horror or Theatric-type AMV isn't exactly right. Also, the drama category had always been massive each year, so I split them off, and it's proving to have been a very wise decision. Most other cons had long since already done so as well.

So far, Drama and Rom/Sen are now tied for first place in submission count, with Action nipping close on its heels. Comedy, Fun, and Trailers are a bit lower (which is typical), but doing better than they did last year.

Now that I remember I think I put my first attempt in drama years ago even though it was a romance, but among so many videos I guess it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. I initially thought romance wasn't included because it isn't the most popular category with the audience, regardless of it being one of the most popular (if not THE most popular) for editors. Nevertheless, it's nice to see it there now.

Only 1 video this year for me (inspiration struck a few months ago after hearing a certain song) and I'm not sure what category it could be in. It has Drama but it's also Sentimental but neither Horror or Romantic. Although, seeing as both of those categories have the most entries, my chances are extremely low anyways XD.
