It's probably best that nobody mention what they've used publically, so as to keep the judging impartial.

heheh, my first attempt at an AMV hell entry. I'll be sending it in as soon as I get the file compressed just the way I want it to be ^^

Ah, sorry if I made it sound like I was posting because it was required! ^^; I just said that because I wanted to say something about my submission, but it was a few days after I had submitted, so I couldn't exactly say, "Hey, I just sent my thing in!" ...You know, that logic doesn't even make sense to me anymore. That should help you. Since I'm only doing my first AMV (been working on it for an hour today), I don't know too much. I'm using VirtualDubMod and Ulead Video Studio 9 (VDM is free, and I'm using it because it can open ogm's).
