Then you get very inconsistent results, that's a terrible idea.
If the categories were divided between the two groups (so Group A judges 3 categories, and Group B judges the other 3 categories), it wouldn't matter as long as there were no judge's choice award, and no entries were allowed to move categories.

It would still create more work for the coordinator, and each pre-screener group would still probably be pushed past their peak attention spans.* So it's questionable whether the benefit would offset the extra effort. Also, I prefer that pre-screeners be able to move the category of videos if need be.

*I'm attention deficit, so it's possible that I underestimate the attention span of others.

If there's a video that's really good and DESERVES to be in the finals, and I was a pre-screener, even if the video was the 80th out of 100, it was near midnight, and I was dying from sleep deprivation, I would still be interested in it and give it a proper score. If your video isn't compelling and engaging, what do you expect? It's not the pre-screeners' fault that they can't get into your video, it's you not making an interesting one. This is what makes a contest a contest. It's about finding the best, most unique, and entertaining video and showcasing it to the audience for votes. If you didn't make the cut this year, then figure out why you didn't. A lot of people say they mainly go for popular songs and animes. Well if they do, then why aren't you doing it? Just because these other people utilize this information doesn't make them worse than you. Even if a lot of the finalists use popular songs and animes, they still do it well and make it interesting and engaging. This contest has been producing a lot of great videos that I still watch to this day, so there's nothing that should be changed about it. People just need to stop complaining, suck it up, and think of something better for next year or just don't enter at all. :l

Even if the screening process is less than ideal, is there actually a problem with the process so severe that the contest results are being skewed? If the issue is the WAY the contest is run, and not the results, well...if the contest is fair, what does it matter to us if the screening process is one marathon session or two shorter sessions? Whether people are having the time of their lives or dragging themselves through the process? That's between the contest coordinator and his/her prescreeners to work out, right?

Yes, as long as it's worked out between the coordinators and the prescreeners, and not dragged into public view.

What troubles me, year after year, are comments about how unpleasant so many people seem to find the AB screening process. Seems like the majority of prescreeners who have anything to say about this subject spend most of their time complaining and making negative statements about the contest, the entries and the editors. It happens often enough that I just don't find it funny, or even something to joke about anymore. I also start wondering whether all this negativity means there IS a problem with the process and whether that problem is compromising the integrity of the contest itself. I would need more information to make that call, though; right now I just wonder and, as said before, put a lot of faith in the contest coordinator. Whether other people come to the same conclusion is up to them.

That an audience choice award is chosen by the convention audience? Yes, that is an indisputable fact.
Of course, but thats not the only thing I was talking about lol
Also I wasn't only talking about Anime Boston, or any specific video or myself. Theres plenty of other videos that deserved prizes award to them, and didn't win because of the popular anime/song. Thats the fact I'm trying to say Karrens.

The number of the hotline was 1-800-I-FEEL-OK. I think the campaign motto was "It's going to be OK."

Another one that judges. Is the org filled with people who just because their saying there opinion about something, they start to believe that this person is so and so? I'm just saying my opinion, and replying to those who replied to me. You may think I'm sounding butthurt but like I keep explaining...I'm not talking about myself... lol
Grow up dude Please read and listen carefully.
