Again with everything that has already been stated here, and as a fellow Contest Coordinator, taking other editors AMV's that were not submitted and to show them where the audience has a say what their "favorite" was is a contest. You are declaring a winner. It is not fair to the other editors who submitted to what they thought was a contest. In turn you are putting them against videos that have won numberous times and giving them no chance whatsoever. To me I would feel betrayed by the convention if I entered the contest only to find out that a video that wasn't even entered into the contest beat me.
You can SHOWCASE AMV's if you would like. However the audience does not vote in a showcase, it is to show off the videos that you found and are your favorites. I do showcases all the time, put up the slides and post a list of the videos I showed at the conventions. Or heck I even try to contact the editor ahead of time saying I really enjoyed your video and would like to show it during my panel.
Again the way this was done was all wrong.
So I highly recommend a re-examination of your conventions procedures.

Re: Tsukino-Con 2015 AMV Contest FRAUD?
Actually, I don't thing the problem is per say taking videos from the internet and having a popular vote for fun as I've done very similar things in AMV rooms called AMV Mortal Combat where I put two video together (from a Pool of videos I've assembled) to fight it out and the audience determines the winner... HOWEVER, that is not run as a contest and is made very CLEAR on that nor does it involve mixing submissions entries from creators with others picked from the internet.
When it comes down to it, the act of mixing submissions to what most creators perceive as a contest with ones from the internet and then having voted on those is what the core of the problem is. Either you separate the two, or redefine exactly what you are doing it and make it clear this is a SHOWCASE for entertaining the audience with and not a contest in any respect. Currently that clarification is not present and generates way too much confusion and false premises.

...What conversation are you in? Since "you guys" encompasses all of us I suggest you re-read what we've been saying because you missed it.C.R.S.-Destiny wrote:So let me get this straight, You guys object to videos everytime some else uses the same song. I have seen both videos by Gorz and Kirapet and personally they look nothing a like. I could go out and look up tons of videos and say all of you have taken materials from others. Personally you have no proof at all that anything has been taken. I thought AMVs were a way of expressing your love of anime and music. Now I see for some that its just your way of showing that you can do it and if anyone else tries to use the same song and or certain materials you can rip on them saying they stole it.

No offence, but look back up. Some have accused someone of stealing anothers work yet you objected to my post. Maybe you should rethink who you are objecting to since you didnt object to any of the threads related to Gorz. As for the forum I am well aware of what it is about.

I have no opinion about Gorz because I have not seen his vid, nor the video similar to his, hence why I didn't comment about it.C.R.S.-Destiny wrote:No offence, but look back up. I suggest placing a quote of who you're talking to directly in the future to avoid this confusion.

KiraPet's - Fantastic Baby AMV (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SatY8c7DiQ), stole parts from Gorz' - Gatsby (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP2zTvHeGzo).
There's a difference between using the same scenes as someone, and downloading their amv to use in your own. A lot of the stuff that Gorz did was unique (not originally in the anime), transitions, custom graphics, masking different parts together.
Some examples:
KiraPet: http://gyazo.com/651bf3604e4c62afa152b85d4308603f
Gorz: http://gyazo.com/8d89aa740ef2b221f6d65b354a9537fe
KiraPet: http://gyazo.com/8a725cde633ed5addcff7584cd84e8d9
Gorz: http://gyazo.com/873bd9aad90807b5cb55434bbcc2f064
KiraPet: http://gyazo.com/5949e048543a69b93ffef1187b684aff
Gorz: http://gyazo.com/c81b1dfa734668d34d1268377bd53436
I can tell you with 100% certainty that you won't find these exact scenes in any anime. All KiraPet did was add in a few random scenes from Fairy Tail, Kuroko no Basket, Inu x Boku SS and a few others (poorly I might add).
Your rules clearly state thatAlthough the FULL VIDEO wasn't taken frame by frame, most of it was. Honestly, the reason the video probably won was only because of the scenes from Gatsby. Takeaway those scenes and all you're left with is some generic badly edited clips which show the true skills of KiraPet.YOU MAY ONLY SUBMIT VIDEOS CREATED BY YOU. Pulling videos from other creators off the internet isn’t cool and trust us, we’ll know if you ripped off someone. If you do this your “submission” will be disqualified. Ever heard of plagiarism folks? Submitting someone else’s work as your own is plagiarism.
I've been in a similar situation to Gorz, and the result was that the editor was not allowed to participate in future contests at that convention (and a few others as-well). I know you don't get many submissions, but that would be the right thing to do here as-well.
*Edit: UNLESS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SatY8c7DiQ WASN'T THE VIDEO SUBMITTED (still stealing is bad )

I want to clear something up before I make a reply. Is this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SatY8c7DiQ the same one that was shown or was it not?

Re: Tsukino-Con 2015 AMV Contest FRAUD?
I have seen the AMV that you are refering to and the clips that you have shown as evidence are no where to be seen in the video. You might want to take another look at what video you are looking at. no offence. Also the video you saying is KiraPets is not hers, it was not the one shown.BakaOppai wrote:C.R.S.-Destiny wrote:So let me get this straight, some of you guys object to videos everytime some else uses the same song.
