Out of curiosity, will entrants receive confirmation that our submissions were received?

Ouch thats a harsh blow. but I think that isnt even considered a mash up videoMisterFurious wrote:anneke wrote: 'AMV HELL' type videos are for people who don't have the patience nor the artistic wherewithal to put together a full-length video.
Dueling Videos: Under Ice would be consider more of a mashup than any amvhell.
And sometimes you dont always need the entire song to get your point across though i agree that 30 seconds is short

Straight off the Fanime front page. Not written by me but does a great job of getting the point across.
FMV contest deadline extended!
If you're rushing through last-second changes and are realizing you won't make it, you're in luck! The FMV deadline has been moved to midnight on May 11! However, you'll still get a bonus extra two points if you make the original May 5th soft deadline and submit today. Midnight of May 11th is a hard deadline, so please get it in before then. Also, if you didn't like the mash-up theme, it's OK. Those who use the theme will only receive three bonus points, so feel free to submit your AMVs anyways. So, turn in those music videos; you're still in the running!
Sorry to do this to everyone, please submit what you have/want/willing to submit and good luck!
Mental note *Don’t F&*@ up a good thing, a.k.a don’t change AMV's the formula worked before I got here and I'm pretty sure I’m just F$#%ing it up with my insane ideas. Next year it will be a straight forward AMV contest no hijinks.

Re: Fanime 2009 AMV Contest Date Extended Entries Due May 11th
Now what one convention I go to does is have an award for the video that best fits the theme. So a theme can be used but people don't have to actually use it.

Re: Fanime Music Video Contest 2009 Rules.... AMV's Due May 5th
I wasn't really talking about mash-up videos, and AMV HELL certainly isn't one. I actually think mash-up videos as defined in the rules can be good. I was once blown away by a video to a Foo Fighters song where the creator composited footage from the original video into the anime. Very impressive.RolltheStampede wrote:Ouch thats a harsh blow. but I think that isnt even considered a mash up videoMisterFurious wrote:'AMV HELL' type videos are for people who don't have the patience nor the artistic wherewithal to put together a full-length video.
