Winning an award is like icing on the cake, but that means getting into the Otakon AMV Contest as a finalist is the cake, which is satisfying enough for me.

i dunno, i feel like meeting some of the other people on here in person was my induction into the .org... up until that point i'm mostly chatting with .gif and .jpg's, but to know who is behind that avatar makes it completely different.
Not really a "rite of passage," but more like "I finally made it" or "broke into the big leagues." I'm not necessarily looking for notoriety per se but I'd like to ditch the feeling of being the kid trying to survive in an adult conversation...something like that. Anyway, the goal is to reach the summit. Not necessarily to win, but make the Otakon finals. AMVS3 feels like a major accomplishment after the premiere, but competition is different. Yeah it definitely looks interesting and refreshing, so I plan to check it out.
