Wow, thanks for the compliment! It has really made my day to find out that people noticed this AMV.

Winning an award is like icing on the cake, but that means getting into the Otakon AMV Contest as a finalist is the cake, which is satisfying enough for me.

Having such a great responsive crowd is one of the best motivations any editor could have to keep on sending in their best videos.
Well they certainly were excited in that utube link =p

In that case, I give you a piece of my iced cake, because I liked your video more than mine. XD (granted, it's only a small cake compared to the wedding-sized cake that Nemo got, but you deserve it!)

Now I need to go out and get that game...and try to convince myself that it isn't Kingdom Hearts...

oh, is that the rite of passage into the .org? :)

i dunno, i feel like meeting some of the other people on here in person was my induction into the .org... up until that point i'm mostly chatting with .gif and .jpg's, but to know who is behind that avatar makes it completely different.

As far as meeting other Editors I have had luck at different cons.
AWA, Otakon, Akon, Ushicon(RIP), Tekkoshocon, Sugoicon I would assume AX as well but havent made it there yet.

I just wanted to say that the Cirque du Kaleido AMV made me really REALLY want to watch Kaleido Star and it was amazing! I actually am watching it now, so thank you for the awesome AMV and for introducing me to an awesome new series. ^^

Not really a "rite of passage," but more like "I finally made it" or "broke into the big leagues." I'm not necessarily looking for notoriety per se but I'd like to ditch the feeling of being the kid trying to survive in an adult conversation...something like that. Anyway, the goal is to reach the summit. Not necessarily to win, but make the Otakon finals. AMVS3 feels like a major accomplishment after the premiere, but competition is different. Hopefully this makes any sense to y'all..?

Yeah it definitely looks interesting and refreshing, so I plan to check it out. I've been trying to get back into my anime watching groove anyway since no watchie watchie means no amv makie makie (though 3 are in queue atm). *sigh* The pressures of the real world...
