The feedback I shall offer will be in Dinosaur form (or some other prehistoric thing). Each video gets a unique dinosaur based on the essence of the video and also with a picture of said dinosaur, ^^.

Re: Obligatory, annual, elitist AWA 2016 Pro AMV review!

Post by EnQuatre » Sat Sep 10, 2016 10:29 pm

Well this was fun! There was a lot of watching to do, and a bunch of good vids!

I'm not going to rate on merit per se, but I will denote vids that I enjoyed a lot personally and will be revisiting upon their release with some asterisks (****). This is very very subject to my own biases, source/music favoritism, and what I like in AMVs myself, so don't take it too seriously!

20 thru 65
Spoiler :
20**** Great tone and sense of wonder throughout. Cleanly edited, with clever lyric sync too that is highlighted without being too in-your-face. I also noticed some really neat attention to internal sync. Very dynamic in terms of movement. Satisfying scene choice. Best of all though, it just flowed extremely well, transitioning almost seamlessly between the various movies being showcased, and even developing the protagonists surprisingly well considering the number of works featured. I really enjoyed this one!

28 - Good editing throughout! Short, but enjoyable… but so short…! I liked the first half much more than the second… otherwise, there was just a lot of exploring but little ‘story progression’ so to speak. The ending was far too short and abrupt to my liking. It felt rushed particularly at the end, and I feel that the video could have been a lot stronger if it tied things together better in terms of story.

37**** - This one was super cute. I thought that it was especially well structured in terms of its narrative, and the video flowed extremely well, swelling and building with the song. A great relationship piece that really developed the characters well over the course of the video. Solid sync, great pacing overall… I’m really struggling to think of any criticisms apart from some mild difficulty distinguishing between imagined and real scenes.

38 - The opening few clips were very strong! That said, the one shot of someone impaled in the introduction (believe it or not I never actually watched Naruto) was a little abrupt I felt. I would also recommend more Ken Burns. Some clips I noticed were cut a little soon or too late, and the lip-flapping in places was also a little distracting. In general, I felt that the video’s flaws were largely due to pacing. The story unwrapped very slowly, and for a viewer not familiar with Naruto I was struggling to make sense of where things were going at times. I appreciated this video, but in the end something about its structure and pacing never felt completely right.

39 - I really liked the first half of this video. At points in the second half, however, I thought that some of the clips were lingering just a little long compared to the pace of the music, at one point just after the midway point as well as at the very end. Several of the zooms and swish pans were also a little too extreme and distracting at points, I felt. Overall I thought that the story got across well and the video was well-edited and an enjoyable watch apart from those factors!

42 - The lip sync was a huge component of this video and concept, and while it was on point for , the most part, it was a little loose in others which took away from the video at parts. The concept made me chuckle though, as well as Nina. I’d hesitate to recommend Ken Burns given the nature of the video, but the AMV was also a bit visually too static in places.

44 - This was a pretty dynamic action vid overall. Effects were overdone at certain points, with the use of twitch being a little distracting, the background changing abruptly from mask to mask, etc… I also felt that this video could have benefited from tighter internal sync, as I thought that there were a couple missed opportunities to sync the action sequences more. Lastly, I thought that the scene choice was a little disjointed overall and often felt like a collection of random fight scenes. The ending was also extremely abrupt.

45 - While some of the overlays worked well, some of the others really clashed a bit too much, and there were some serious color issues with some of the effects use. The attempts at lip sync were far too loose as well. That said, the basic editing was firmly solid, and there were some creative ideas in terms of scene choice and lyric sync.

46 - The world is a zoo.

50 - I liked the concept of this video. In general, I thought that the intro was a little slow, lingering on shots just a little too long. Overall, I also thought that the sync was overly loose and the AMV could have been stronger with tighter timings. I would also recommend more Ken Burns to improve the lack of camera movement in some scenes.

51 - I wasn’t really sure what this video was trying to go for in terms of concept. At some points I thought the sync and scene choice were quite creative, but at other points I felt that scenes lingered or that the sync was a little loose. I was also not a fan of the scene selection for the ending. This is another one that I would also recommend more Ken Burns for.

52**** - Nice ping-pong sync! I definitely appreciated the creativity of the sync throughout. This one was very enjoyable. My one suggestion would be to add more ken burns-like zooms for some of the longer shots.

53 - I was impressed by the ramping in a lot of this video. In general the base editing was really solid. That said, I was a little lost in terms of figuring out where the video was going in terms of concept until about midway through. The parts with lip sync felt a little awkward to me as well.

54 - I liked the concept a lot! The sync and scene selection were well-executed. A few minor issues--some pans were really stuttery, and the shot of the city walls rising I also felt was a little too long. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the ending, but I recognize that Radioactive ends pretty abruptly as a song.

60 - I see what the video was trying to go for, but it fell a little short for me. The lip sync and text I felt was really distracting, perhaps even unnecessary for what the video was trying to do. The transitions, camera effects, and sync all had aspects that I think could have potentially worked, but weren’t quite polished or executed well enough. Overlays, zooms, etc… all ended up being a little distracting. The frame rate also seemed very inconsistent. The video also really needed to use creditless OP/ED footage.

62 - that butler man can sure rack a shotgun fast

63 - I liked this one a lot. Powerful scene choice, particularly during the introduction. I think the video lost its path very slightly at the climax of the vocals, as a lot of emotionally impactful scenes had already been used earlier, so the trajectory of the music didn’t quite match the intensity of the visuals later. Even so, this was a vid with great mood and impact.

64 - While the concept was executed well enough, the audio quality was extremely poor and detracted a lot from the vid. Some of the lip synced lyrics also didn’t seem to quite match (characters’ expressions were too angry for the words being spoken) imo.

65 - Trippy! Really clever pairing of visuals with the song, zany sync that went well with the bongo drumbeat and strumming strings. I think this one had a particular mission it set out to accomplish, and it did just that in a thoroughly surreal, artsy manner. Nice!
66 thru 110
Spoiler :
66 - Really like the concept! I do think that the strongest part of the video was the intro. Once some of the zanier effects and objects start showing up, I think things get a little distracting, but the video was still worth a laugh overall!

67 - Sync-wise, I thought this was really well done. Scene choice wise, though, I wasn’t sure which, if any, of the girls I was supposed to focus on, and I think the video might have been more close to its intended concept if it had focused on only one girl, or at least only one girl for a given section of the song. The video had the right kind of attitude, though, as well as just the right amount of editing energy.

70**** - I enjoyed this one a lot. A lot of Shinsekai Yori AMVs go for a horror based concept and this was a nice change of pace. Subtle, solid sync, cool scene choice, and a consistent melancholy mood throughout. The story is a little confusing in places though, but overall a really enjoyable video.

71**** - I think this is really well done! I enjoyed it and have more of a feeling than I already did of what I've been missing out on by never having played a Zelda game... The editing is pretty creative, and the video as a whole has a great, consistent mood of exploration, wonder, and determination that ties it all together really well. Props for using a hard source.

72 - Creative and really well executed! Dem baseball bat hits in particular were quite impactful. The lip sync was a little odd at times in terms of the expressions that character had,, but not too much of a problem.

73 - Hallelujah it is not.

77**** - This was nicely done! There was some snazzy lyric sync, and the video as a whole had great mood, and consistently solid editing. Liked the ending too. Really impressive sync for a live action video overall.

78 - Well synced, with quality action editing. Why is the audio so quiet though!? I particularly enjoyed the creativity of the internal sync in places. The video escalated well to fit the intensity of the music. I also enjoyed the tone overall and the consistency of the character’s relationships throughout.

79 - Crisply edited! This was a funny concept and strongly executed. I did think that the Achievement Unlocked was unnecessary and a little distracting, but that may just be me.

80 - There was a really decent and consistent mood to this vid, but I feel like it could have benefited from more of a concrete narrative. While the concept seems to be going for something darker and more abstract, the scene choice seems to imply more of a story at times which is confusing. There are some video quality issues too. Some scene choice was a little disjointed, and I felt the video needed to flow a bit better in places. I also noticed some frame rate issues during some ramps, and the ending was also a touch too abrupt for my liking.

81 - This one was a fun watch! I thought the lip sync just a tad too loose given the amount of focus it has in the video. The “I’ll give it to you” section was great! Overall this was a good song/series pairing, well synced, with smart lyric sync.

82 - Interesting! I did think that this video, while well executed technically, changed its focus too many times over the course of the vid. The mood was consistent throughout, but the character focus changed too often in my opinion. The editing was really solid, with some creative cuts!

83 - This was quite well-synced, but I just really wasn’t sold on the song/source pairing. With the song sounding so upbeat, it was hard to reconcile with the mood that the chosen scenes seemed to be going for.

84 - Fun video! Good execution. I did think that the first half of the video focusing just on the main pair was stronger, as once the rival was introduced, the video lost the romance theme that had been so effective to that point. I really wish it had stuck to that, but it was still well done.

85 - Really well done--I legitimately got chills, despite not having seen the original trailer, seen the source anime, or even despite not knowing anything about Dr. Strange. This video had some really great intensity and made pretty snazzy use of the trailer’s sound effects.

87 - There was some iffy lip synch at some points, but aside from that this video had some solid editing overall and kept a smile on my face throughout!

88 - This video didn’t quite work for me, but I could see what the goal was. I think it ended up being far too slow paced relative to the music. Shots lingered too long. I would heartily encourage more of an effort to be made to sync. Some sections were sufficiently dynamic, but other parts were a bit lethargic. Including audio from the anime series is always polarizing, and I wasn’t convinced it was used effectively here.

89 - I really liked some parts of this trailer, but the one thing that kept distracting me was the fact that there was nothing to match the sound of blaster and laser fire from the original trailer. I think that might have been difficult given the source/trailer combo chosen. The start of this vid in particular was pretty strong, and there was some good scene choice at some points!

93 - ROAUAAAROUGH.

101 - Oh my.

102 - A nice, upbeat vid! Good lead-in/intro, enjoyable concept and well-done lyric sync. I thought that the brief shot of “Wait for it” was unnecessary and took me out of the video, but that’s just me… Overall, for how simple the concept was, things stayed fresh throughout without the concept getting old! My only other feedback is that a little more Ken Burns would have helped. Some pans were also a little jittery.

103 - Well-edited, with a good eye to maintaining the humor of the series!

104 - Oh dear… Fantastic lip synch. Failing that would have compromised the video, but it was edited spot on. Great ending. There were some minor masking issues here and there. Not my kind of video personally, but it met its goals well.

105 - The intro to this vid started out strong, but once the music got going, I really thought the video needed more cuts and editing in general at points. Ken Burns was also sorely lacked. The high amount of lip flapping was also unfortunately prominent. Overall, for a song like that, the video really just needed more tight editing.

106 - I did like the concept here! For the most part this was executed pretty well too--I particularly liked the violin sync in places, as well as the intro and conclusion. A couple of the pans were messy in terms of frame rate, and visually there was also a good amount of blocking and banding going on. A couple of the fades were also a few frames off in terms of sync.

108 -Twixtor!!!! Hoookay…. This one just kept going and going and going. It’s a tough one to review in that there were some clear problems, but they were somewhat excused given the parody concept. That said, were this video not a parody, the pacing and effects issues would be glaring. Not sure how I feel about this one in the end, but I’m happy it exists...?

109 - This one sure was nice and dark. Some good stuff in terms of sync. I wasn’t a huge huge fan of the audio/source combo, but that might just be me. I was also a little unsure about the ending ending.

110 - Simple, no-frills editing in terms of beat sync, but the video really needed more Ken Burns. It was a little ambiguous what the concept was at first--took me a while to realize that this was relationship based. Maybe more of the conflict between the girls could have been highlighted? The audio quality also seemed a little off...
111-143
Spoiler :
111 - Dynamically edited and a good relationship-based video, but a little shorter than it could have been in my opinion. The chorus needed more pizzazz, and narratively speaking I thought the time skips were a little confusingly implemented.

112 - the horse was very bad I guess.

113 -The use of anime audio wasn’t done well imo. Subs should also be avoided. There was some decent drama editing, but it felt inconsistent to me--more Ken Burns might have helped. I certainly didn’t like the overlays. The other vocalist’s solo was weird when paired with Rem, as her voice contrasted with her character quite strongly. There were also some crossfade issues.

114**** - What a nice narrative arc... Building intensity over the course of the song, then tying things closed well. Really, the only criticism I have is that I did feel that given the strength of the word “Hate”, it didn’t always carry the right impact with the scene it was synced with. Solid editing, and good use of ken burns. With the stage and dream sequences (?) I also felt this video was bookended well, with a nice ending!

115 -The opening pan of the woman on bed was rough framerate wise. I liked the intro, but as soon as the music escalated, I thought the scene choice became less coherent. I really liked the lyric sync, editing, and mood, but it was not clear to me what they were fighting, and so I couldn’t get a sense of what the stakes were, so to speak. More Ken Burns could also have been beneficial.

117 - Good basic, no frills editing. Challenging source--Hotel California takes its time to get going, and it drags a bit as a result. I did think that it was a bit distracting that the “She” running the Hotel California is a “he” on screen, if that makes sense. Lyrics didn’t sync that well after the start. I also felt that the narrative was a tad too linear, basically summarizing the movie, although I respect that doing anything else would have been very difficult. An interesting concept overall!

118 - I thought this was well synced, very faithful to the original trailer. In particular there was some great use of sound effects matched to the scene choice. I thought some of the lip sync was actually just a few frames offset.

119**** - Wow. Great mood transitions, great internal and beat sync. Excellent atmosphere. Very oppressive, desperate, apocalyptic. Nice to see that people are still willing to rise up to the challenge of making great Madoka vids. I particularly appreciated the good use of rapid-fire hard cuts in places.

120 - Interesting concept. I really wasn’t sure about the fuzzy/blur effect used, and there was also a bit too much lip flapping throughout mixed in with the lip sync. Overall I think the vid had some good ideas in terms of editing, but just needed some more ken burns and a little more attention to execution, particularly in terms of fx.

121 - Far too much lip flapping throughout. This video was a little slow in terms of sync. Editing-wise, the zooms felt far too extreme, and sync was inconsistent--sometimes lingers, other times too hectic. Anime audio being included in the video was also a questionable choice. This was a decent concept though, and there was some fierce effort put towards developing the relationship.

123 - Based on the speed of the drumbeat and music, felt that the editing needed to be paced just a little faster. Lip flapping was a little immersion breaking too, particularly when random lip synch appeared out of nowhere. This was a good attempt at a character-based AMv considering the source, but the basic editing just needed a little refinement.

124 - I’m a little confused by this one. It’s like a fan trailer, except it ended up being so long that it basically feels like a recap video. There’s nothing wrong with the editing, but I’m just really not a fan of how slow the video feels and the lack of a real goal or concept besides paying homage to the show.

125 - I like the character focus for this one! For the most part it was edited quite well, but there were some issues reconciling the quality of the FMA scenes with the FMAB scenes. There was also a little too much lip flapping in places, and while the mask-like effect for the funeral scenes was an interesting idea, it could have been a little cleaner. I did like the ending, as well as the way the narrative was structured!

126 - short n’ sweet

127 - Well this was pure unadulterated insanity. Well synced, with good lip sync. Pretty entertaining source/music combo. Enjoyable mindless fun.

128 - This video had a good buildup at the start, with a great transition on the bass chord to the action. Great sync throughout. I did think that the ending was a little weak, and I was yearning for more of a connection with the lyrics ‘what a wonderful world’ even though I recognize how little footage is available for this project.

129 - I can’t say this video is my thing exactly, so I might be biased. It was a well synced, energetic dance-type video, I guess? I think it’s creator can be proud.

130**** - Wow. I really enjoyed this one. Some pans were a little messy. Could have used fades on some of those lingering scenes. Otherwise, most of the other criticisms I might otherwise have can be in some ways forgiven due to the video’s formidable strengths. Really, really great scene choice, with some truly impactful sync in places. An excellent song/source pairing too, with strong opportunities for lyric sync that were executed well. Nicely done.

131 I think the music combined very poorly with the source. Since there are multiple singers, the tone of the song changes at each phrase of the music, but the editing doesn’t reflect that. In general, I really just wasn’t all that sold on the concept.

133**** - This is one of those AMVs that just lets you sit back and enjoy and trust the editor to do his thing. The merits or drawbacks of the use of live-action can be debated, but I personally think it was used very effectively. Really conveyed the joy and dynamism of anime-watching, and while I’m sure there are technical nitpicks to quibble about I’m not enough of an expert to comment. I’m impressed.

134 - Lol.

135 - I liked the concept of this video, and the basic editing was strong. That said, the scene choice was not particularly coherent in terms of the story to me. If that was an attempt at lip sync during that one scene with the protagonist on the bed, then it was so loose I wasn’t sure. There was also some room for Ken Burns here and there. Some nice beat sync in places.

137 - A neat foundation for the video, and a pretty ambitious project. As much as I wanted to like this, the technical issues ended up really being a turn-off. There really was too much lip flapping in places in this video. Some of the fx usage was questionable, and the integration of the anime audio with the music was far from flawness. Zooms were a little extreme too. Overall, the effects really ended up being distracting and hurting more than they helped.

141 - There are definitely some quality issues, but they don’t take too much away from the video. For a trailer, the lip sync is a little off but again not distractingly so. I liked the concept--it’s a natural pairing. Sections of the video were stronger than others--particularly I thought the part with the girl’s death could have had more impact.

142 - Good lyric sync! I liked it and thought that it was snappily edited, with resourceful use of the original trailer’s sound effects. Nicely done.

143 - Vibrantly edited! This was an engaging video in terms of sync, particularly with some really nice internal sync. Personally I would have liked to see more of an effort at lyric sync, but I’m willing to excuse it! I liked the ending shot.

This year I decided to use a +/- system, so for each entry I'll talk about what I liked about the video and also what I think could improve it. I will also be implementing emoji ratings for videos I liked and loved.

:awesome: = Liked

:ying: = Loved

Spoiler :
16-020:
+: Cute idea, good scene selection for the song lyrics
-: Not sure if this was the best song to use for the video

16-028:
+: Song seems very fitting for this anime
-: Wish there was a bit more to the video since it felt really short

16-037: :ying:
+: Very adorable, good use with limited footage, I want to watch this now
-: A lot of the scenes would go a shade darker, but there wasn’t any transitions or anything going on at the time, so I wasn’t sure what was happening.

16-038:
+: Different approach to a Naruto video that works, 1:03 is pure genius
-: Needs work on the lip flaps, the teardrop effect kind of stood out, ken burns would help this video a lot, there’s some quality differences between the sources

16-039:
+: Good job editing to a live action source
-: There’s some lip flap, ken burns could help, I’m personally not a fan of the song, the black transitions bothered me because they flashed back to back and took me out of the video, some scenes ran long like near the end

16-042: :ying:
+: Didn’t think this combo would work, but I was oh so wrong. I loved the scene selection, actually makes me want to watch the series now
-: Lip sync was hit or miss, so it could use some tightening up, ken burns might help with some of the static scenes, there’s also some lip flap going on

16-044: :awesome:
+: Good flow and looks good overall
-: Some quality differences between the various sources

16-045:
+: Combo works, song is stupidly catchy, battalion scene was on point, great title
-: Lip sync could use some work, some transitions could also use some work, Leouch should have been introduced earlier in the video

16-046: :awesome:
+: Memes forever
-: Too short

16-050:
+: A very somber mood
-: Could use better quality footage, ken burns would help the static scenes, some scenes lingered on too long, I had to listen to the song a few more times to understand what they were actually saying

16-051:
+: An appropriate combo
-: Could use better quality footage, ken burns would help

16-052: :awesome:
+: I dug this combo, some really good synced parts
-: Lip flaps occurred, some slow parts, transitions need work, I wasn’t a fan of the lip sync because it just felt out of place

16-053:
+: Good flow, cool sync
-: Some lip flap, everything seemed sped up, seemed like a summary of the series, wasn’t a fan of the lip sync in the middle since it took me out of the video

16-054: :awesome:
+: Good sync, liked the story telling
-: I couldn’t really get behind any characters since there seemed to be a lack of them, scenes looked really dark

16-060:
+: There was a lot of love for the series
-: Lip flap occurs, some of the lip sync didn’t work, try not to use scenes if it they have the in-show text/credits in them, some slow downed scenes were noticeable, the zoom-beats were inconsistent, so I’d either use more of them or none at all

16-062:
+: Told its joke and got out
-: Robots are evil

16-063:
+: Good concept, mood is spot on
-: Some quality issues, wish it focused more on Batman

16-064:
+: I loved Ashley in the Wario Ware game, so props on choosing a unique source
-: Ken burns might have helped, some tighter lip sync and better audio quality were needed

16-065: :ying:
+: Loved the idea, great editing, couldn’t even tell what was your doing and what the anime had going for it already, need to watch the series now
-: I was too sober for this

16-066: :ying:
+: I dig the idea, liked the gag bits
-: Mouth masking could use some work, some lip flaps occurred

16-067:
+: Cute idea, works better than expected
-: Mouth masking needs some tweaking, audio cut can be heard

16-070:
+: Good flow
-: I was trying to follow the story, but got lost

16-071:
+: Good mood
-: Needs more ocean

16-072: :ying:
+: Great combo, great sync, great title (after effects?)
-: Could use some ken burns for those static scenes where they’re just talking

16-073:
+: Established what it was early on, had joke set-ups
-: Really needed punchlines for those jokes though

16-077: :awesome:
+: Good sync, fitting song choice
-: The Warner Bros. logo bothered me

16-078: :awesome:
+: Good sync, good flow
-: Wish I felt more connection between the song and anime though

16-079: :ying:
+: Good flow, good sync, good scene selection, good pairing
-: The sound he makes after the achievement unlocked was kind of loud and threw me off

16-080: :ying:
+: Good flow, good sync, good scene selection, good pairing
-: I was too sober for this

16-081: :ying:
+: Bret McKenzie song is so good, loved the visual gags
-: Some ken burns in the beginning please

16-082:
+: Mood is good, song fits
-: Wish I understood the story more

16-083: :awesome:
+: Cool montage at end
-: Not sure how the song fit, some lip flap, the effects in the show are cheesy, but not your fault; I just wanted to point that out, haha

16-084: :ying:
+: Great song, great anime
-: The pixel effect didn’t really add or take away from anything, so I felt that it was unnecessary. Suddenly in the middle of the video, story happens, but I wish it was established earlier, the ending confused me, haha

16-085: :ying:
+: Solid editing, cool idea, Marvel-esque logo in the beginning was cool
-: Biggest issue here is pairing a female voice with a male character that dominates a lot of the trailer, it just kind of takes you out of it. Ending title could have been made to look more like it belongs to Mob Psycho vs Doctor Strange

16-087:
+: Liked the combo
-: Needs some more sync

16-088:
+: Song seems to fit, some sync works well
-: Song could use a cut, scenes linger on, lip flap occurs, I’d recommend not using dialogue in the beginning

16-089: :ying:
+: I think the pairing works, the slow parts you did well, that ending
-: I would try to find different scenes for certain parts

16-093:
+: Surprising
-: Too short

16-101: :ying:
+: Good pairing, love the sing-a-long part
-: Some quality issues

16-102:
+: I appreciate the amount of work to find all those scenes
-: Some of the sources didn’t mix well though

16-103: :ying:
+: Like the combo, appreciate the literal sync (bee, timepiece)
-: Some lip flap going on

16-104: :ying:
+: This is hilarious, one of the funniest entries
-: Color correction is kind of off, some lip flap occurring with background characters

16-105:
+: Seems an appropriate mix
-: Gore warning, needed ken burns, needs more cuts

16-108: :ying:
+: The parody I never knew I wanted
-: Feels long (never ending)

16-109:
+: I see what you did there with the song connection
-: Some ken burns would have helped, left us hanging with that ending

16-110: :awesome:
+: I’ve never seen the show, but I could follow the story and it seems an appropriate pairing, the video grew on me with each subsequent view
-: Needed ken burns

16-111:
+: I appreciate the pairing, it’s synced well
-: I just don’t think the song matches the series even if it’s just focusing on their relationship, also the audio cut can be heard

16-112:
+: Bad horse is still as catchy as ever
-: I got a virus. Thanks a lot.

16-113:
+: Rem is best girl, I can see why you chose the song
-: The dialogue in the middle of the song kills the mood, also the yellow text ain’t too pretty to look at, some ken burns would be cool

16-114:
+: Well edited
-: I was having trouble following the narrative

16-115:
+: Different approach to Blue Exorcist, but I like it, Ke$ha was surprising to hear
-: Ken burns please

16-117:
+: Song fits better than expected
-: Ending was abrupt

16-118:
+: Combo works
-: Needed ken burns for talking scenes, too many black transitions

16-119: :ying:
+: Well-edited
-: I wish there was more story

16-120:
+: Cute
-: Lip flap occurs, cut to hard black isn’t great, needs ken burns, weird effect going on

16-121: :ying:
+: I could follow the story, loved the song
-: Needs more ken burns, what’s with the dialogue in the middle?!, lip flap occurs, some weird transitions going on

16-123:
+: Drama and romance all at once
-: Needed tighter lip sync, some lip flap going on, ken burns needed

16-124: :awesome:
+: Makes me want to watch the show, shows off editor’s live action chops
-: A little long

16-125: :ying:
+: Great song for Mustang
-: Continuity issues with the story, needs some work on the transitions, and there’s a noticeable difference when you switch from the original series to brotherhood and vice-versa. So I think sticking to one of those two sources and maybe cutting the song could have been a good option

16-126: :awesome:
+: Funny and to the point
-: Too short though!

16-127: :ying:
+: Sync was good, gags were on point, I should watch this anime now
-: Needs to be danker

16-128: :awesome:
+: Well-edited, synced well, fits the mood to me
-: I need more

16-129: :awesome:
+: Very interesting source usage, synced well
-: I need more

16-130: :awesome:
+: I like that combo way more now, good pacing, good storytelling
-: Maybe some more movement in some of the scenes

16-131: :awesome:
+: Cute idea, I love that you used a song from Sister Act The Musical
-: Some lip flap going on, could use some ken burns

16-133: :awesome:
+: Amazing concept, great editing
-: Sometimes, the difference in quality is noticeable going from one anime to another. The concept is strong, but I think a few more live action scenes spread throughout will keep it consistent. Otherwise, it just becomes another video focused solely on anime, which is cool, but the concept is what makes it unique and I want to feel the presence of it through the whole video

16-134:
+: Masterpiece
-: No encore occurred

16-135:
+: Song seems to fit
-: Lip sync felt unnecessary as did some of the zooms

16-137:
+: Flow is good
-: The anime audio is distracting; just let the song tell the story with your editing, lip flap occurs, some weird distortions went on for me

16-141: :ying:
+: Good sync, good concept, cool title
-: some weird scene choices like with the tree scenes, English text on the prompts would have been nice to know what was happening, the change in mood in the middle of the video confused me a little, motorcycle noise but no motorcycle was shown on screen

16-142: :awesome:
+: Action scenes were done well, good sync
-: Lip sync is kind of weird, why are the soldiers part of the group anyways?

16-143: :ying:
+:Good storytelling, good editing, good sync, need to watch this anime now
-: Some lip flap occurred
