Has the pre-show been determined yet, out of curiosity? Contest is 9 days away. If not, you guys are cutting it close. :P

How many people does the AMV room hold? I'm happy to see so much interest in AMV events on the AX schedule app but it looks like there's more interest in the encore than there is seats? Is there an interesting story about why the encore is held in the AMV room now instead of one of the ballrooms? ;)

In previous years, the encore was shown in both the Mariott ballroom and, unofficially, in the AMV room simultaneously. What we noticed was that the ballroom screening (which was considered the "official" encore screening) was sparsely attended, whereas the AMV room was much better attended.

This year, for logistics and simplicity reasons, it was decided to hold the AMV encore exclusively in the AMV room.

Yes, we're anticipating a mob. Yes, we will accommodate AMV creators as best as possible to ensure that they can be present during this screening.

The entrant status page has been updated (view it here). It now reflects entries that have been selected for the "Best of the Non-Finalists" block, as well as Pre-Show.

Regarding the BotNF block, we squeezed in as many as we could within the three-and-a-half hours we had. We had about two hours of vids left over that we just don't have time to show, unfortunately. Our selections were chosen almost entirely based on scores (plus a few coordinator indulgences). If your entry didn't make it into the BotNF block, interpret that how you wish.

As for the Pre-Show block, this year that was decided almost entirely based on whether you're attending AX or not. If your vid made it into BotNF and we were aware that you're attending AX, (and if you didn't already have a vid in the main contest), there's an extremely high chance your vid will be in Pre-Show as we were able to squeeze in a lot of you. Get seated early so that you can see your entry on the big screen!

So what's going to happen to those remaining 2 hours?

EDIT: Read that entirely wrong.

I swear I'm never going to get picked for one of these things. I can almost guarantee myself that next year I'll be picked for at least exhibition since that's the year I'm not going to AX.

So here I sit at the airport wating for my flight. THE AMV Theater is in the can so to speak and I think it looks like it will be one of the best years for the room so make sure to come to all the events (I literally killed myself this year just getting it all done.)..

As for the contest. That's Troy's and Jason's baby as I'm just the vocie of reason (see last years contest intro).

See you all there!
