Emo is fake Angst. The Emo vid was a comedy making fun of Emo kids, the Angst vid was actually rather maudlin material.

Which is kinda sad, cuz once upon a time, Emo was an honest to goondess genre of music. All those freaking wannabe goth twerps took it an' made it a parody of itself.

my video, Shine V1 HAD to be runner up in emo. I don't know any other way you can explain it. Nothing sad about it... angsty, maybe, but does angxiousness have to mean sad???

I mistakenly put it in 'Drama' just cuz there's nothing else, really, that relates to it. But, yeah, it's MUCH more Emo. It doesn't tell a dramatic story. It doesn't tell a story at all.

So yeah! Emo SHOULD be a sepperate category! I totally agree and congratulate the AWA Judges on pioneering such an effort! ... though I'm not sure if they meant it to be this profound o.0 but I hope to see it back next year.

on another note, congrats to "this video makes no sence" i have to admit that i voted for this video over my own.... i couldnt vote for a video that took me 4 hours to make and looked like shit over an awsome bad ass video like that... good job, and congrats!

We kinda warped the meaning a bit on the Angst award, but it just made for such a good award title. "Best Sad" just sounds dumb.

Ok, cause the two sound like one and the same to me.

Though I now like the sound of "The award that makes us feel sad inside"

Vids that do that rarely do so because the vid is high quality...

Technically, "Angst" is a shortened form of "Existential Angst" which refers to the contradiction encountered by someone who realizes the banality (empty pointlessness) of existence, but also fears the black abyss of nothingness that is death. It's pointless to go on living, but terrifying to take your own life and stop existing. So it started out as a really artsy despair of mentally unstable creative types and got adopted by depressed teenagers as a way of moaning about not having driver's liceneses.

THAT's idea dillution.
