I'm heading home tomorrow from New Orleans, and I've got about a 12 hour drive tomorrow [plus about 12 more hours of sleep when I get home on my nice bed instead of the horrible wood floor I've been sleeping on], so if you need any emergency questions answered that could not possibly wait that long, just pm NS or mirkoSP [or any judge, they're just online the most], and I'll let them delegate any issues that I cannot answer during that span of time. Entries should still be pm'ed to my inbox.

Cya'll on Friday!
but.. does this mean we wont have full judging time again? And code, you do realize that this round isn't blind right?
Yeah, it's obviously not blind. But it never was, since the editors get to judge each other's works.

Things are due Friday July 2 at 11:59. Judging starts on July 3rd and will end on July 4th at 11:59 CST. Round 3 begins July 5th 00:01 CST. I just haven't marked that on the first post.

So, I coulda swore code said at the beginning that we could include any additional comments about the people's vids and he would show the comments to the competitors, I wrote a lot of stuff all together about the videos, and I've slowly been learning that none of it reached the people it was intended for. Whatever, I guess I'll put 'em all here. I'll include my scores to, for the fuck of it, since then it'll all be lumped together.

I really enjoyed it and think it is really well made. I think it's very open to interpretation which isn't a bad thing, but when you are trying to get a certain "moral" or story across I think something needs to be a little more concrete. I only think this video is slightly lacking in this regard. Notice, I did not give bad scored by any means, I think this video definately fulfilled the requirements and entertained.

This video was entertaining, and I enjoyed the editing in it, however when it comes to the moral I really feel like this fell short. Yes, I get the sense of dread in sacrificing for others in the very well set mood that is present in the video, however there really is no sense of sacrifice... Shinji doesn't die or save anybody at the cost of any sacrifice, neither does anybody he "loves" in the video. It's kind of just a bunch of scenes of people happy, and then some brutal ones after it.

Entertained me, and once again well edited. Executed the moral very well, there was this cute little animal and turned out to be dangerous and killed our protaganist, what more can you ask for? I also really enjoyed alot of the internal syncage used in this video.

Liked the video and the use of internal sync as well as visual text elements to help your point across.

eh, the song is the only thing that coincided with the actual moral, The video was really lacking in this regard IMO. The sync was decent and it was edited well enough, it just doesn't fulfill the criteria of the round as much as I'd like it to.

Well edited, and I really enjoyed it, but there is no moral, I watched numerous times looking for one since code also said that the filename is not the moral, and I couldn't figure it out, as I'd said to a past video, there is no really concrete moral present, and add on the fact that there is no filename to help guide my search, this video falls on its face in that regard. The audio was also terrible. It need EQing and Sounded staticy every time a character spoke. This didn't effect any scores really, it's just something I thought I'd bring up.

Liked the sync and a lot of things you did to convey the moral, it wasn't as focused as I'd like it to be, which is why the scores are a little low, but it was still good.

There seemed to be a lot of filler.. idk, the only thing that really conveyed the moral, to me, was the ending. I can see hints of it throughout the rest of the video but it's not quite as solid as I think it could be. Still clear on the moral, but I'd like to see it more solid.

Only reason I give the moral, even an 8 is because the song carried it and I saw a theme within it. there is no moral as far as filename and such goes, but "Boys don't cry" and such all kinda presents a theme. There's a lot of really not good lip sync in this video which is one of the bigger reason why the sync score is so low, if you're going to use lip sync make sure it is right. story and orig, basically it's every other FLCL amv, and I don't really see too much of an outstanding story, it's a shame because I think this is MCHY's... and I kinda wish he woulda had more time to edit XD.

It paints me to give this video such a low score for moral because it's pretty weak... Like, don't hold lies because... you'll get shot and people will find out? :o... I suppose, I just increased the score on Moral by a lot after typing this out. But anyway, Yah, I thought it was really original to kinda single out the dad as somebody taking this kid's GF. I feel like the text elements really shoulda been used in some better way since they were straight up rather ugly, but other then that really liked this.

Liked the editing and the mood, portrayed the moral very well, the ending got really random, and should have stayed focused more.

Do we need to tell Code what source we're adding for this round, or just go ahead and use it?

Unfortunately I really don't think I'll be able to put anything together for this round. Too much school work this week and working through relationship troubles took a lot of priority. Sorry guys.
