Well that's why none of the main events are in Nokia this year, Vlad. It's all ours for the private AMV creator screening. Didn't you get the memo? :P

We put screens in each of the bathroom stalls. There'll be no escaping when all the Kingdom Hearts 240x160 divx-logo'd vids play. Muahahahaha!

I dunno, I've endured my fair share of prescreenings over the years and, sure, my eyeballs want to fall out of my head when it's all done and, yeah, I'm a bit cranky until I fall asleep, but somehow I come back for more punishment time and time again :awesome:.

Or you can do it [Insert country here's] Got Talent style and give the audience the power to reject the bad ones after some time and move onto the next one! :jester:

No, see, you use brackets... half of the videos on the first day, half of the videos on the second day, and the victors from those days compete in the final showdown on the third day, with the final winners announced at the end of the show! To make the voting process practical you dispense with the paper ballots and hand out iClickers so all of the votes are immediately tallied. The SPJA won't mind the expense of buying ~$150,000 worth of iClickers when you point out the enormous increase in 4-day pass sales that will inevitably result from this AMV show of unprecedented scale!

That concludes the introductory summary of my AMV contest proposal, now if you'll all turn to page 2 of the handout I'll start up the powerpoint presentation...

It's so nice to see that your going to be such a huge sponsor of AMVs at AX based on your proposal... We've contacted the AX sponsorship collectors to come to your house to collect the $150,000 sometime this week :P

Granted my tastes seem to differ from what seems to be the majority of the audience now a days.
Fixed. Often enough there have been instances in contests where the AMV I voted for didn't win, or it will end up getting runner-up. But then I wonder if I look for certain things as an editor that the audience doesn't. My Best in Show choices are usually spot on though, so I guess it's not a total disconnect.
Actually with the videos I like vs most I have seen in the last 5 years, I wish to let my statement stand
