My notes from viewing the Pro discs, edited for readability.
Most of these are "first impressions" (quick comments) without a lot of thought put into them.

DISC 1
******

01 - Deth, Love & Rebellion - Persepolis/Rolling Stones
Not anime. Generally well done. Not sure the song choice works although it is appropriate to the subject (rock music subversive in repressive culture).

02 - The Prayer - Howl's Moving Castle/Groban (male/female duet)
Romance. Good picture quality but awful pans. Steppy frames. Good timing and overall editing.

03 - Indemnification - The Third/CSI Grissom's theme
Instrumental. Drama. Nice look. Above average timing, maybe too consistent (repetitive) with the fast drum riff.

04 - Zero Fate - Code Geass / 30 Sec to Mars
Action. Kiddie rock. Why the water ripples at the start...and never again? Very good image quality. Good use of transparency/fades. But the last scene???

05 - Some Stupid Action Video... - Police Story / Lazytown
Jackie Chan. Just a bunch of random action scenes.

06 - Obamanation - Hidamari / Rammstein
Rammstein lip synched to cute anime chicks = old, OLD news. Senseless concept: political message, cute anime chix, German rock...none of this meshes. Might as well paste an Obama bumper sticker on it.

07 - Haseo's Inside the Fire - .hack//GU / Disturbed
Action. Kiddie rock. Interesting looking anime. Generally well done, might quibble with some of the timing. Not really exceptional.

08- Eve the Perfect Human - Various / Nine Inch Nails
Hentai. Didn't finish.

09 - Yeah, Keep Telling Yourselves That - .hack/LIM / Beatles
Bad lip synch right from the start. At least match the gender. Good image quality. Ill conceived: lip synch with no lyric/scene synch ??

10 - Deer In Headlight - East Euro stop motion animation / Plone
Fascinating to watch despite ugliest characters ever. A+ for "being different." And well done on top of it all. {Janzki ?}

11 - Mai...Paralyzer - Kanon / Finger Eleven
Scenes and song don't belong together. No attempt to take advantage of the music. If that were even possible. Scenes are "just there". Closing scene means what exactly ?

12 - Judgement Day - Death Note / Scissor Sisters
Feel like I need to have seen the anime to understand this one. No synch or flow to speak of. Cuts seem to be "late".

13 - Dies Irae - Moon Phase / Muse
Something wrong with the audio. Time lapse scene has too much stutter. No synch or flow. Is this "about" anything?

******

14 - Paper Image - EF / Sara Bareilles
Romance. Nice look to the anime. No flow of scenes; too many scene changes. Restrained use of pan/crop effects.

15 - See In You - Karas / Cascada +
Romance. Simple editing style. Much better flow than the last one. Text is out of place/unnecessary.

16 - Song of the Count - Various
Hentai. Didn't finish.

17 - Obanyx - Oban Star-Racers / Cold Storage +
Action. Good focus and music match. Might have benefitted from effects or overlays, but can't argue with simple edits.

18 - Lumina - EF / TMP +
MAD or MAD-like. Short and maybe pointless, but interesting to look at.

19 - Beyond Freeing - 5CM / Lupa Fiasco
Romance. No concept. At least it's short (ALIS).

20 - Fix You - Howl's Moving Castle / Coldplay
Romance. Maybe too much lyric sync.

21 - Kiss it All Goodbye - Death Note / Mindless Self Indulgence
Action/horror. Kiddie rock. Well made, but no personal appeal.

22 - Dead in Two Episodes - Dragonball Z / Armstrong
Parody. Dragonball (-_-). ???

23 - Hold On - 5CM & Voices... / The Sounds ++
Action / Artistic. Best vid so far. Big plus for keeping up the pace all the way through to the end. Could argue with some of the "flow", but Why bother?

24 - First Dance - Kanojo / Buble
Cute romance. Dropped frame. Awkward lip flap. Motion work feels out of place (same for "keys").

25 - OHMIGAWD - Marvel Cacpom / Osborne
Game vid. Action. Evidently some kind of "statement" vid. Whatever.... ALIS.

26 - She is a Cat That Does Not Like Burs - Army of Darkness & Hello Kitty / Gorbasm
ALIS. 'Nuf said.

27 - Lacrima - True Tears / Cranberries
Artistic. Horror. Steppy overlays. Nice concept & music match, but execution could be better.

28 - Dreamscape - Paprika / The Kills
Action. Awkward start. Good use of keying that doesn't always work due in part to scene selection (too dark).

29 - All You Need Is Love - Prince of Tennis / Efron
Action. Inconsistent editing & flow. Some nice riffs, though.

30 - I'm OK, But I Know How To Lie - Bleach / Yellowcard
Action. Inconsistent flow. Random effects usage.

31 - Haet - Dark Love / Stepmania
Hentai. Didn't finish.

32 - Ai to Shi - ...Sora / Kamen
Romance. Nice touch. Almost too sparse.

33 - Try to Believe - Grave of the Fireflies / Oingo Boingo
Music doesn't match anime or scenes from same. Hard to believe this is not a parody. Fast cuts are completely out of place.

34 - 58008 - Various / Otsuka
Hentai. Didn't finish.

35 - The Edge of the City - Ghost in the Shell TV / Trailer music
Trailer. Not bad.

36 - From the Diary of Alphonse Elric - FMA / Coulton
Not bad.

37 - Baccano Swing! - Baccano / Jimes +
Action. After three viewings this still doesn't feel right even though I can see the work. Excellent concept, though.

38 - Harvest - Samurai X / Opeth
Action. Adequate video. This anime was overworked years ago.

39 - The Incredible Atomsk - FLCL / Incredible Hulk trailer +
Trailer. Best comedy so far.

40 - Creep Freak - Aeon Flux / Technical Itch
Action. Vaguely interesting, but....

41 - At Least It's Not $1zillion - Various / Anti-Flag
If I want a sermon, I'll watch CNN.

42 - Intangible Dream - Haibane Renmei / Naomi
Drama. More sermonizing? Looks ok, but can't get past the annoying song.

43 - Together, Into the Dark - Chrono Crusade / Death Map
Romance? Nice.

44 - DPO - GTO / King Missile
Whatever.

45 - DQCF+P - Street Fighter / Abe
Some kind of tribute vid, I guess. Generally good flow. Not bad.

46 - To Serve Man - Various / Sweeney Todd
Parody? Very good lip synch work. Doesn't feel right, though.

47 - Deliverance - Haibane Renmei / Brightman
Drama. Lack of flow. Not sure that the "art" stills actually add anything: not enough contrast, maybe. Good music match.

48 - The Sweetest Sky - Tokyo Marble Chocolate / {J-pop}
Light romance. OK. Not great.

49 - On My Heart - VoDS / Oldfield
No vote for this one. Busted (!).
{This is the only vid that I had technical problems with: DVD player was messing with the long fade-in's. Switched to another TV and player; looked fine until it locked up 20 seconds from the end.}

50 - His Secret - His and Her / Copeland
Romance. Cute.

51 - Adopting the Metric System - 5CM / They Might Be Giants
Well, it's different.

52 - Illuminate My Heart - Various / Schyman
Romance. Too many scene changes disrupts flow. Good mood.

53 - Hiroki's Promise - Place Promised / Kasabian
Romance ? Random scene selection. Uninspiring music compared to imagery.

54 - Clarity - Various / Michael Jackson
Drama. Sermonizing; cheesy song. Scene selection above average. Good flow. Excellent execution. {VGP ?}

55 - Damascus Steel - Afro Samurai / Ill Nino
Action. Probably the best action vid in this set (disc 4 pending). Excellent flow. Superior editing. Color palette tends to wash out.

56 - Waiting To Forget You - various Shinkai / Olivia (j-pop)
Romance. Occasionally too many scene changes disrupting flow (filler?). OK, but not inspiring.

57 - 57 Channels - Various / Various
The inevitable AMV-Hell ripoff. Points for not being as boring as some of the other entries. Correction: one point.

58 - That Sparkle - Nodame Cantabile / Vedera
Romance. Interesting looking anime. Reasonably well done vid. Lotsa romance in these pro discs: still waiting for the one that inspires.

59 - Supererogotery - Rune Soldier / Thomas
If a 10-year-old did this, I'll be impressed.

60 - Can't Stand Still - School Rumble / AC-DC
Comedy/romance/action. Silly, but well done.

61 - PROTOGROUP-ASTERA - 5CM / Protogroup ++
Instrumental. Artistic. Might be THE perfect vid. Everything done right. {Compare with #23 for Best of Show.}

62 - Kam-E-Chu - Kamichu / Cano
Pace of video does not keep up with the music. Too slow - as much as I hate to say it.

63 - Last Words - Saikano / Tankian
Depressing.

64 - Earth's Last Hope - Dragonball Z / Hoobastank
Action. Dragonball (-_-). Competently edited; not well enough to stand out in this crowd. Wrong lip sync. Motion work not dramatic enough.

65 - Who the F*** Do You Think I Am? - Lagann / EMR
Action. Text would have been better hand drawn (or similar font) rather than plain-jane font.

66 - Live At Budokan - Various / Def Leppard
Must have collected every stage performance scene there is (except Iczelion?). Otherwise ok.

67 - Hephaestus Becomes Ares - Various / Various
Artistic. Odd. And oddly engaging.

68 - The Birds Will Eat It - Galaxy Angel - We Are Wolves
It's over !!! ...moving on...

69 - All I Need - Avatar / Last Republic
Drama. Average.

70 - Different Realities - FMP / Apartment 26
Action. Competent editing. Reminiscent of "old" NHMK vids. Maybe too much contrast between heavily overlaid scenes and the more plain editing.

71 - Cockpit Love - Last Exile / Infant Sorrow
Romance. Odd timing choices.

72 - I AM RAMSTEIN!!! - Evangelion / Voltaire
Not another one.... Didn't finish.

73 - WTF - Ghost Stories / Evil Dead cast
Now we know who made the WTF category.

74 - In Memory of Soldier A - Various / Mignogna
Parody. Red-Shirt Guy Part II. {VGP ?}

75 - Fate Project 2.1 - Fate / Nightwish
Action. Screen composition is often awkward. Needs more work. Or something.

76 - Darkest Hour - Batman GK / Smashing Pumpkins
Action. Horror. Well done, but...

Oops, sorry. Made the lists public but didn't post the link. I blame my pre-con-con-crud. Only person I know pathetic enough to get sick before the con as if I didn't have enough on my plate already...

As for studio name Bauzi, I can edit it easily enough if you want. It's mostly there to distinguish between individual members of mega multi conglomerate studios.

Is there anyway to view who the finalists were in the categories now? I voted, but now I forget all the vids that were in the finals, and when I go back to the pro place on awa-vat, it lists it as the nomination process, not finalists.

Anyway to see just finalists, or did anyone keep a list?
