heh..even though i am a judge for this week..my best advice for your clips is to enter both..there is no limit to the number if entries you can toss into a round as long as each one of them in slightly different..it actually improves your chances of someone finding one clip funnier over the other..so would just toss in both of them..Strawberry Key wrote:I have two versions of the entry I want to submit this week, but I don't know which works better; I find it hard to evaluate my own sense of humour. Does anyone who's not a judge (don't wanna get myself disqualified!) want to take a look at the two versions and tell me which is better? Send me a PM.
As for Chaos: it's nice synching for sure. Some of those hip-wiggles and such work extremely well (especially Guu with the afro, and the whole last seven seconds of the video). XD However, it was basically just random groove/wiggle clips, not very creative. Anyone could come up with that (actually, while I was making my entry this week, I was thinking, "I wonder how many random dancing vids there are going to be?"). Isn't the point of AMV Hell to showcase creative, funny ideas, not just good editing?
If it were just that I had two entries, it would be fine, I'd submit both. But I have two versions of the same entry in this case-- it would be against the rules if I submitted both, since they're too similar to one another (same images, same area of the song, different execution). Thus, I have to decide which one is ultimately funnier. ^^;ChaosProjects wrote:heh..even though i am a judge for this week..my best advice for your clips is to enter both..there is no limit to the number if entries you can toss into a round as long as each one of them in slightly different..it actually improves your chances of someone finding one clip funnier over the other..so would just toss in both of them..
Fair enough if you think it's funny, then. Everyone's sense of humour is different, and you should be happy you created something you really like. I guess I was mostly saying that because my own entry for last week, while well-edited and had a clear expression of the idea, wasn't necessarily the most original way to set images to the lyrics. I still liked it, but not as much as some of my past entries since I felt kind of lazy using that idea. So I think this week I'm more biased against people just going with the most obvious thing, be it funny or not. This week i expect to see alot of dancing vids(comes with using a dance song)..but will they be funny enough to catch the judges attention. So i think being creative is a good part of it..but get across your idea comes even more..my video while random get across the idea that i wanted..so sure anyone could have come up with it..but is it something people can rewatch and still enjoy..personally it cracks me up everytime i see it... lol
heh..well go with what you like...as this is a showcase of funny ideas..then like you say everones idea of what is funny is different..some may go with more elaborate jokes while some might go with a nice straight forward joke..which i would say i fall into that catagory..i spend more time ripping footage than editing when I work one these..so i can understand you being biased on it this week.. lol..Strawberry Key wrote:If it were just that I had two entries, it would be fine, I'd submit both.
