While I feel we're being sarcastic or fecetious in our shaming of people who haven't written reviews since we understand that real life factors and obligations get in the way and those things take a level of priority over Pro and AMV related things, I don't think vidya gaming is one of them. AWA Pro is a rare opportunity to do something like this where people can hear pretty honest feedback, discuss, debate, and improve. At the very least, its where we should all take the time that we can afford to spare and help and further that process for those involved.
I'm not trying to call out Hamstar here, cause I'm fairly certain she has real life obligations she has to attend to and she's just making a joke, I just don't want people to think its ok to be lazy about things just because you wanna play Overwatch, League of Legends, or whatever other video games is out there. Thats not a good enough excuse and its disrespectful to the participants who put in the time and the effort on their videos and to try and elevate this contest to actual be something more than just an editor's choice pool that happens alongside Expo. There's already enough issues with getting people to watch all the videos and to vote, much less write reviews, and while technically none of it is mandatory if you're not willing to take some time to give what you can to the contest just submit to expo.
Sorry for getting preachy or sounding overly serious, I know at the end of the day its just fandom stuff set to our collective bad taste in music, but there's too many people this year that entered that seem flippant or not care at all and the only thing really stopping them from contributing is they want to get that extra Call of Duty match in instead.
I'm not saying that people who haven't posted reviews yet are all in this category either so we don't need a bunch of posts from all of you saying your kids got stuck in a sandbox and it took 2 squads of firefighters and police 4 days to get them out or that suddenly you have both midterms and finals bearing down on you while you work two jobs to pay your way through college and cover child support. I think the majority of us will just give you the benefit of the doubt.
At the end of the day, you'll get back more than what you put in, even if you don't put in anything other then a 2 second troll video. Posting reviews are mainly just a fun side thing anyways and its fair if you have reasons for keeping your reviews private, but hope everyone who enters at least took the time to watch through the videos so when voting comes around you can give everything a fair chance and evaluation.
On a side note, I edited my review of 110 on whether it got a cupcake. Rewatching it again won me over enough and I decided to give it one and thought it would be worth mentioning.
