LOL. I gotcha.

But hey he's got a good point. Its true that you never stop learning and only the fool admits to knowing it all. So thats why I never say "I am the best kiss my ass." I just say that I do good for myself and those who like my work.

There will always be those who don't like you for whatever reason. You have a choice. You can either let people like that piss you off or you can ignore them and concentrate on positive issues that you know will help improve your own outlook.

Cuz AMV_4000 is da man!!!

I re-read a post back which you stated that New AMV creators that make great vids get put down because they are new. To show that that statement is wrong you can look at Bakadeshi. Technically Bakadeshi is a Noob by your rules. Bakadeshi is far from a noob, and he's gained recognition here because he has earned it by making a great video, just like everyone else who has earned their recognition. Hell I've been doing AMVs since 2000 and I am more of a noob than Bakadeshi. It's demeaning to Bakadeshi's skills to call him a noob.

The reason I was being a dick about this contest is because you call it a noob tournament but the rules can't justify someone to being a noob (shown with Bakadeshi as the example). A noob is someone entirely new to the field and has no experience whatsoever (which is one reason, if you actually think about it, why noob don't win contests) or someone who has made poor video and doesn't try to enhance their skills. You should really look into the rules more thoughtfully if you're going to call it a noob tounrament or just simply consider rephrasing your contest. I think if you rephrase your contest alot of us would jump off your back. Use a pretty word that could somehow resemble you rules. Like AMV Freshman contest or something (Hey... that's pretty good!). Somehow that seems to flow better with your rules and doesn't demean anyone's skills. Just a recommendation. I know your cause is good.

Well I agree that would have been a great name but then people from the UK would be like WTF!??!! They don't use that term.

I'm not the one that came up with this name and yes, I do wish an edit button was handy right about now.

Nightmare came up with the name the Great Noob Tourny because he really wanted something that was different and unique. Yet, I agree that AMV Freshman is a cool title.

Wish I had thought of that!

that is a good name. raname it to that! ;p

I also think your cause is good, and heck, if you want it, I'll even submit my video just to support the contest. I realy don't care so much If I win or not. actually wait... did you say the prize was a DBZ boxset? though I'm not a die hard fan like some people, I need some dbz footage for a video idea....hmmm.....

I could even submit my very first video... since technically that would be when I was REALY a newb.... Would that fit your purposes for this contest better? and its less than half a year old, so its not ancient stuff.

What I think would be nice would be a First Video contest. (not older than a year or something) THAT would give real newbs a chance at winning something. I would even hold it, if I had money for a good prize ;p

that is a good idea bakadeshi I would enter in a first video contest (eventhough my first video was made in WMM1 and has horrible video quality)
My newest video: Semper Fi
The two before that: To Be Strong, This is how a man should be!!
