No no, I'm a firm believer in Murphy's law. Though things don't go wrong nearly as much as you think they will.
This year is being taken care of, so no worries.

Actually I shouldn't say that. There was one person who was giving the contest and the con a hard time, but he ended up getting banned because of it.
Ahem. This "banning" happened AFTER I was told I could not enter my videos into NekoCon's contest. I later found out -- and I have people to back me up on this -- that I was "banned" from entering the contest (and almost banned from the convention entirely) because of exactly one staffer's personal vendetta against me to not set foot at NekoCon, much less have my videos shown. (This person is no longer on staff at NekoCon, BTW, so with any luck, I'll be allowed to enter the contest this year at Neko again.)

And John, not every convention shows the AMV winners during cosplay halftime because not all AMV editors are interested in sitting through cosplay just to see who won.

Why should they have to sit through cosplay? Back in the day when Anime Boston had a small Main Events room, even if Main Events was full the editors would get let in to watch the winners get played. It's not that hard for this to be implimented.

Exactly (I would arrange to have creators brought in)... but that's not even an issue anymore since we can't show them then anyway.
I was talking to Vic and he had the great idea to show them during Iron Editor. I talked to Antonio and it looks like that's what we are going to try and do. We just need to have all the votes counted and the results together by then.
I also learned that last year the winners were shown after Iron Editor as well (something I previously did not know). Here is to hoping it all works out!

Speaking of which, does anyone even want me to attempt to work on getting creators seating at the contest this year? Seems like every year we try doing it, it was always done at the last minute and everyone ended up with seats in a bad location.
Then again I was never staff before, and I never made the arrangements myself (ie: I think I can do a better job). Anyway let me know if this is something you are all interested in so I can get the ball rolling on it.
*Edit* I'll even create a new thread to ask this question. Would be better than spaming this thread with a bunch of "yes" and "no" posts. Here is a link: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... 568#871568

Brakus;
While I respect your attempt to defend yourself, all I know about your ban is that there were several people upset with you because of things you were saying about the con. What, I have no idea as I never bothered to read any of it.
The decision however (which was long in coming from what I was told), was handed down to the contest staff by the con President himself. Neither I nor my co-head had any sort of personal involvement in the matter.
Additionally, I have since stepped down as contest head and left Nekocon staff, so any issues you have with the contest should be taken up with this years staff.
If you have any Otakon related questions to discuss however, please feel free to ask.

Funny, I thought the reason you were banned from NekoCon was because you couldn't shut up about the previous year's contest (y'know, car wreck that damn near killed the contest chair? But hey, they ruined YOUR crappy AMV, so I guess that's all that matters!). And a good portion of the staff, not just Rob, decided they'd had enough of your whining. Can't say I blame them, either, since you see fit to raise a stink over just about every contest you don't win.

*really wonders when you'll get it through your head that lack of After Effects has nothing to do with why so many people can't stand you*

Or rather, that was AMA. Your beef with NekoCon was that you didn't win because the winning video was put in the same category as yours. Same result, though. People got sick of your whining, and you got banned. Live with it.

BishounenStalker & Brakus: all you will accomplish by continuing is pissing a lot of people off by getting this thread locked. Please resort to PMs with the parties you are having problems with.

Black Sun is correct, if this gets out of hand the thread will be locked, so please take it elsewhere.

Hey Black, love the new Icon BTW *salute*
