Freshman tourny....Yes that sounds like a very nice name instead of The Great N00b tourny. That sounds like a contest of who can be the biggest n00b of them all.But I feel That it should have some kind of name like the Otakuton tourny. Thats Why I feel it should be called something like. Onimu Freshman tourny or something like that. Couldn't put it ne better. But Watch people bitch about that to.

Been busy today but read your responses and talked to others and decided to do this.

The Great Noob Tourny of 2004 has now become the AMV Freshman Tourny of 2004

Introducing The AMV Freshman Tourny of 2004. Here's the deal:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Must have been a vid creator for under 1 year

Must have no greater then five vids currently out in circulation

Must be a member of www.animemusicvideos.org

RULES & REGULATIONS

1 VIDEO PER CONTESTANT, NO MORE, NO LESS.

NO STOLEN VIDS, HENTAI MATERIAL, YAIO, OR NON ANIME MUSIC VIDEOS <LIVE ACTION, VIDEO GAME, OR TV SHOW.> ALL VIDS MUST USE ANIME FOOTAGE. ALSO NO "EXCESSIVE GRAPHIC VIOLENCE" MEANING ANYTHING THAT JUDGES DUB AS GRAPHIC VIOLENCE.

NO VIDS WITH MUSIC THAT HAS EXPLICIT PROFANITY

ALL VIDS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE DEADLINE OF JULY 23, 2004 2AM EASTERN STANDARD TIME USA..

VIDEOS CAN BE IN ANY FORMAT RANGING FROM WMV, RMA, MPEG, AVI, MOV, OGG

JUDGING PROCEDEURE

VIDS WILL BE JUDGED ON A FIVE DAY PERIOD IN FIVE CATEGORIES. BEGINNING JULY 24 - 29 2004

DIRECTION - plot of the vid

TIMING - timing of the vid to the music

QUALITY - the overall display quality to the vid.

MUSIC - the music used for the vid

CREATIVITY - how innovative the vid is in terms of special effects and transitions.

Oh by the way Bakadeshi I forgot to answer your question about the prize.

Yes, there will be prizes awarded to 1st & 2nd Place contestants. We will also give something for an honorable mention. Make no mistake about that.

One idea that was originally the prize was to give you my box set of DBZ Cell Saga on DVD UNCUT. Then an interesting point was raised. What if you don't like DBZ? What if you like something else? Then somebody said in the organizers meeting earlier today, "what if they could pick their own prize." And we said not a bad idea.

So in two weeks from today, you will be able to pick your own prize from a list. There will be a poll setup to decide what you want your prize to be. The item with the most votes will be the first place prize. The item with the second amount of votes will be the Second place prize winner and then we thought for good measure we would give an honorable mention.

Just to let you know, this contest is interactive. You will determine first & second place prizes. Also, we are not so rigid that we cannot think of changing the rules around a bit. As we did earlier in the week. We're a flexible bunch and since this is to promote education and good will, nothing has to be written in stone. Please note that the need to change an item has to be a valid one and it must have support of others also, please note this item needs to be discussed with the Tourny Committee.

So that's how we are going to run it

I'm sorry I didn't answer this question earlier. I've been running around a lot today. When its your day off, your certainly have more things to do then it would be for a normal work day. lol

Minor correction - it's YAOI - an accronym (pronounced 'yah-oh-ee' for the curious). If you misspell it, then you won't be able to complain if people enter that sort of video since there's no such thing as yaio (at least not in the anime fandom). ^.~

Yeah, I won AE also with a comedy vid, which got folds more press than your "whaaa look at me I wanna be koop" video. So if anyone wants a REAL good video I'll charge $52.95 per hour....

BTW, my only losses were AWA pro and Jacon, 2 REAL contests. For some reason I feel no dissatisfaction.

$52.95 an hour is kinda steep.. but if people would rather pay by the hour... i'll charge $45.19 per hour!! plus mountain dew..
