I think I'll give you a little more slack for not giving a speech now.NoisyNinja wrote:Congratulations to all the finalists! I saw a lot of really amazing videos and some jaw dropping ones. The competition was truly entertaining and well organized thanks to the labor of both the contestants and those managing the event.
On another note, I completely agree with Castor Troy concerning my video “Testing Is the Future”. I too feel that it should not have won Best of Show. In fact, when I was announced as the winner at the Awards Ceremony, I sank down in my chair because I felt so embarrassed of “stealing” the award from the more professional editors. They probably feel the same way I did when I did not win the AX 2012 Masquerade Best of Show for my Bioshock Big Daddy cosplay, which I spent hundreds of hours constructing. Personally, I wanted “Into the Labyrinth” to win Best of Show. The editor of that video perfectly integrated the twitch effect with the music’s rhythm.
In contrast, I don’t mean to downplay the results of the competition at all. I feel extremely excited and honored to receive such an awesome award. I just wish I was able to express that during the ceremony. I’ve never been very articulate, and I usually prefer the attention to be on the things I make, not on myself.
Again, congrats to all the winners!
I did score your video high during judging and I give you props for the technical merit, but I did feel some of the other entries were more my cup of tea.
Next time, give a speech in your Big Daddy cosplay.
