Do you have restrictions to the genres? Ex. Horror?

Re: SMASH! 2012 AMV Competition (Deadline: 30 June 2012)
While I do apologise on not having a Horror or any other category/genre mentioned on the website (Myself and the co-ordinator will review on this for next year, as this competition is still growing in Australia), you may choose a category that is mentioned on the site that you think is close enough to your AMV (if you are still not sure, just select the "Unsure" option when submitting, and us judges will determine which it will go under). In addition, myself and the judges will not just grade your AMV based on Category/genre, but also on how your AMV is made (ie. Techniques, skill, etc.) so you can still win in the competition.TritioAFB wrote:Do you have restrictions to the genres? Ex. Horror?
Hope that clears things out!

We can enter all 3 AMVs in the same categories right?

Re: SMASH! 2012 AMV Competition (Deadline: 30 June 2012)
TritioAFB, I have your AMVs now. You may have received an email from the AMV Co-ordinator accepting your entries, but I too will also mention that all three are acceptable for the competition.
As for your Horror AMV, I believe it would be close to Drama too (since, in my opinion, its shows the serious sides of things, as well as the intense moments the characters experience in the scenes), however, as I said before, marking AMVs based on just category is not what us judges will do, but also look at techniques and skills involved (and my initial impressions have been so far positive ^_^).
Thank you for your entries and Good Luck in the competition!

A Drama-Horror? ... I didn't see it like that, but it will be interesting to see it dealing with the drama category
