AnimeNEXT 2017 AMV Contest (Winners Announced!)

Hi everyone! It's that time of year again, and the AnimeNEXT AMV Contest is now officially open for entries. The entry form is live at http://www.aquilinestudios.org/ANEXT2017 with a link to the rules.

If you haven't heard of us before, here's a few reasons you should consider entering:

• Have your video shown at the biggest (and, dare I say, best) animé convention in the NJ/NYC/Philly area!
• In addition to prizes generously donated by our industry sponsors...
• ...the winners will receive lovely medals unique to 2017! (This was 2016's - 2015's - 2014's)
• No fixed categories - we pick the finalists first without regard to categorization, then pick the categories to fit the finalists. So send in your artistic, your horror, your trailers, your epic space operas, etc.!

As always, e-mail will be our primary method of communication for matters related to the contest, but I will be checking this thread and my PMs here with fair regularity as well. I hardly ever check Facebook, so please don't rely on it.

The deadline is APRIL 29. I can't wait to see what everyone has for this year!

Just finished checking through all of the videos we've received so far. No issues aside from the borderline bit from The End of Evangelion and the one stray subtitle (which has since been corrected). Also, I'm seeing in the database a contestant from Marlton and a contestant from ZIP code 11235 who have not actually entered any videos yet.

So if you're reading this and you have already entered and none of the above applies to you, you're good!

We don't have a premiere rule. As long as your video was completed after the cutoff of April 30, 2016, there are no other freshness rules it must pass.

Just over one month left to go! Also, I'm a little surprised it took 42 entries before we got our first video using Keijo!!!!!!!. My thanks to everyone who has entered so far, especially for an almost total lack of disqualifying offenses or technical problems!

My handy elements summary shows that we are still in desperate need of comedies and parodies. Please don't leave me sad and scrambling to figure out how to replace the "LOOOOOOOL!" in the contest opening theme!
