Just submitted 2 (under “Cosplay Joe”) and I just wanted to make sure that they both went through all right. If so, I have a few more that I want to submit, so that’s also why i’m asking.

Well, as I mentioned in the notes to one of them, two of those were a repeat submission of the other. Because I don’t know if you got it the first time, so I submitted a second time.
So it’s actually six in total. A lot still, but I just wanted to clarify.
And I’m glad that you got all of them, that answers another question I was having.

Tried to email you but the email is not working. (It says the messages are going into a waiting queue or something)animefan1 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 10:40 amWell, as I mentioned in the notes to one of them, two of those were a repeat submission of the other. One of the links you sent I do no have access to.
One other is a WMV not an MP4 - if you could give me access to the link and sent an MP4 link for the WMV one I would appreciate it.
Thanks!

Huh? Well, I know that one of them I use a separate email for, so maybe that’s what it is. And about the one that’s in WMV format, yeah, that was my mistake. I’ll upload and send you a link to the one that has the MP4 format by the end of the day.Harmadillo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 7:02 pmTried to email you but the email is not working. OK, I just PM’ed you with the link to the MP4 version, so that should be everything.

Re: AMV Contest at Anime Houston in September - submission deadline 8/17
I just wanted to say a very heartfelt thank you to everyone that submitted to our first ever AMV contest! We wound up with 233 submissions which is like 200 more than I was hoping for and a veritable blessing of riches in terms of amazing AMVs. We have a 2 hour show Saturday and then an hour for awards on Sunday. Obviously that means the vast majority of the submissions will not be able to be aired - only the top finalists in each category.
I feel very strongly that the world deserves to see everyone's hard work - so my solution will be this - I will have a livestream on our discord after the convention and I will show ALL of the entries we received, followed by a stream of our finalists show, and lastly the awards ceremony. If I can figure out how, I will livestream the awards ceremony on the discord.
Our voting is taking place now and wraps up next Sunday 9/1 - I will email all the finalists next week to let you know you made it. I will email the winners after the convention.
Since I was able to wrangle an actual 1 hr awards ceremony, we are going to use audience voting for the awards in the 7 main categories as well as a fan favorite. We will be awarding other categories and awards, and those will be determined directly by our judging staff.
Thank you all again and I apologize for any mis-steps I may have made and may still make in running this. It has been over 20 years since I was last running an AMV contest, so a few of the newer things that are considered "normal" did take me by surprise and we have adjusted to match what the rest of the community does as well as we can.
Next year we should have a much more polished rule set, as well as a better submission form, pre defined categories, etc.
Here is a link to a discord post with a copy of our judging form:

Congrats on having so any amazing AMVs for your first show.
Honestly, seems like the mis-steps you may have had made it harder on you than it did for us
I'm super amused by the most violent special award. My twisted mind can't wait to see that vid!
