The Anual AuN Sponsored First Video Contest!!
Submission Deadline: July 16th 2004.
Submission Form: Link via animemusic videos.org website, either Local or Direct/Indirect, but the video has to be listed in the Org database.
Prize: 1 Anime DVD of your choice, not to exceed $30 (I'm poor, I'm doing mostly for the fun of it anyway) Second place , and Audience Fav will receive honorable mentions, and I seriously considering doing custom certificates (or maybe even trophy if not too expensive) for all of them.
Now, to change up the fun factor of this competition, the judgeing will be handled in a somewhat diferent way. All of the videos submitted will be judged by a panel of judges hand selected by me, (they are into AMVs, but not part of the org, so they won't be partial to anyone) and possibly one guest judge selected from a member of the org. 6 finalists will be selected from the submissions, and posted here for public judging. Where you guys will judge the video and submit your vote for which one you liked better. The video that gets the most votes will win "Audience Favorite". The top video and the one that gets the main prize, will be judged by the judges, but also taking into consideration the fan's response to the video. (Ala popularity vote)
THe video will be juged on:
1. Story and/or Flow of the video.
2. Editing quality, use of effects properly, appropreate timing, etc.
3. Effort (how much effort is placed in the video.
4. Song and anime choice for compatibility. How much the song matched the anime and/or your concept. We don't realy care about overused anime/music as long as it is good.
5. Originality in concept. How original and unique your concept is.
Here are the rules:
- Must be your first AMV ever created , and must not be more than 1 year old.
- Must be listed in the org database. If you are a new creator, you may create one for this competition.
- People who create new accounts just to enter the video as a *first* video will be imediately disqualified.
- Remasters of first videos are not Elligable. It must be your first video period.
- We reserve the right to add/change to these rules as we see fit.
Instructions:
Complete your first AMV and upload it to the org. If you have one already that is less than a year old, that will do also, even if you have since created additional videos.
Email me your entry link and your name, alias or studio name, anime used, song used, and any other relevant info that you think we need to know about the concept you choose for the video.
Post in here that you are planning to enter even if you still have to make the video, so I know how many entrees I can expect.
I will need at least 15 confirmed entries for this contest to realy work. If I don't get 15 or more participants, I may call it off. depends on the quality of stuff i get. Please note, your skill as an editor doesn't matter for elligability, as long as you have a first video not more than a year old, it is eligable to participate, no matter how good or bad you think it is.
Submissions start now.
Have fun! Judging will commence the week after the deadline, And results will be posted to the site after that time.

First entry?
Just sent you my information. I'm also curious however .. is the voting system that you're using a good one? I recently had a little problem in a contest I was in .. so that's why I'm asking.

Interesting. Well, I liked how my first video came out and it has gotten some good scores, so I guess I'll throw it in here. Although, since it's pretty much a pointless action video, I probably shouldn't expect much from it, but there's no harm in trying and it's always good to get more downloads for it and have more people watch it.

Hey! I'm glad you went ahead with this idea.
But I have to tell you I don't want anyone to see my first video, it was truly NOOBISH at its best. lol. I didn't know anything when I first started and gradually I improved as time went on.
But anyways, good luck to you I hope your contest does really well

Re: First entry?
I havn;t decided on the voting system yet, but i'm trying to come up with something that won;t allow multiple votes from same person, or persons voting on their own vids, etc. would probably have to track by IP or something. Then again I may just use this forum for the votings to make it simpler. wouldn;t have to write some complicated script. (you would PM me the vote so its anonymous.)Willster wrote:Just sent you my information. I'm also curious however .. is the voting system that you're using a good one? Suggestions on this part are welcome btw. thanks for bringing it up.
J.Alana : thats part of the fun of this competition ;p
SSJVegita0609: come on, dew it! I am curious about you better acomplished editor's first vids also. I guess you could say that one of the purposes this contest could prove, is that even the more acomplished creaters started somewhere, it could serve as encouragement to the newbs ;p
genestarwind21122: same as above ^^
worse case senario is it just won't win, what have you to loose? ^_^

Re: First entry?
If that's the case, then why do the rules say that the video can't be more than a year old. That would seem be be a disqualifying factor for most of the more acomplished creators.Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] wrote: I am curious about you better acomplished editor's first vids also.
