Anime Destiny 2004 AMV Contest

Post by suberunker » Sun Sep 19, 2004 1:18 am

Hello,

Well, my anime club, Cal Animage Alpha (the anime club at UC Berkeley) is having a one-day con this semester. And since I've always been the club officer who's most into the whole AMV thing, they've asked that I put together an AMV contest, to which I gladly accepted. So, after some hours of planning, writing up rules, and getting the trophies ordered (yes, there are trophies :P ), I am now ready to officially announce the "Anime Destiny 2004 - Anime Music Video Contest". You can find the rules at: http://animage.berkeley.edu/animed/index.php?page=amv

So, here's the simple lowdown. I have tried to get this as organized as possible, so I apologize if I forget anything.

What: Anime Destiny 2004
When: November 14, 2004. From 1PM to 3PM (time may change).
Where: Valley Life Sciences Building on the UC Berkeley Campus

Submission Deadline: November 5, 2004.
Submission Methods: FTP or snail-mailing VHS, CD, or DVD.

Categories: Drama/Romance, Action/Horror, Trailer, and Comedy/Fun
Voting Process: Audience ballot voting
Prizes: One "Best of..." for each category, one "Best of Show", and one "Judges' Choice" Award. Pictures of trophies will be put up when they arrive.
Awards Presentation: During the judging period of the Cosplay Contest.

"But what if I can't go?"
You don't need to attend to compete in the AMV Contest. If you do win an award, we will mail it to you within a week.

We're hoping we won't end up low on entries, so we are encouraging everyone to send in their AMVs, regardless of if it's been screened at other cons, and we do not have any "anti-trolling" rule. We're hoping for a great AMV contest, so please feel free to help by contributing your AMVs.

Thanks,
suberunker

your mail box is full
Mail box is full? Hmmm, that's strange. Well, I did get your email, so I'm guessing it's some strange glitch to do with the OCF accounts on campus. Sorry about any confusion, I have gotten your mail and replied with necessary FTP information.

I just sent you an email with this question, but it may be helpful to others too, is it ok to upload a HuffYUV AVI file (500+ meg) to the FTP server?

Sorry for the double post, but it as well gave me an error when sending you an email, just to let you know.

Ok, I have been getting your emails, but you guys have been getting the strange mailbox full errors. I'm now assuming that the when I was given the email address, it was one that went out to myself, the head of the convention, and the webmaster. In that case, then one of their mailboxes is full.

I will get this fixed as soon as the webmaster wakes up (It's 8:40AM here and yes, I should be sleeping in). Sorry about the confusion. Just pay no mind to any "mailbox full" messages you get. I am getting your emails.

Darn, and I thought this would start without even the slightest problem. :P

The submission form doesn't have a space to provide the song artist. :P
