-Judge's Awards-
"The Perfect Combination AMV" award goes to I'll Meet You by Dark Moon Studios.
"Most atmospheric AMV" award goes to When Night Falls by TriGGit
"Most artistic AMV" award goes to ...and forever dreaming by trythil
"Most attention-grabbing AMV" award goes to Evolution Redux by Studio Tarantella.
Judge's Honorable Mention: "As the World Crashes Down" by Pwolf AMVs.
And now for the lowdown of how the contest went. Well, we were given a room that could fit 150 people, and we really gave the fire marshall a run for his money. I printed out over 180 ballots, just in case some people wanted a second to have a listing of the contest. We ran out of ballots. Attendees sat on every step along the aisles, stood in the back, even stood outside the door to catch a glimpse of the contest. At one point, we did have to keep people from entering as space became extremely limited. From the general impression, people loved the AMVs. (We took extra care in making voting fair. As soon as the first video in a category was played, all ballots handed out to late people were marked so that the late viewers would not be able to vote for the categories in which they did not see all the entries, nor could they vote for Best of Show)
To those that did not win an award, I do have good news for everyone. For every video, at least someone voted for it to win the category. Nearly every video got at least a vote for Best of Show. The contest was very, very close.
Winners, you will be emailed confirming current address to ship to. Those that won for audience vote will receive the trophies and those that won Judge's awards will receive a prize paid for by the specific judge. As promised, all shipping fees are on us (except outside the US and Canada).
Attendees also request links to these videos, so I will be posting a list of links to the AMV entry of each video on the main website. If you do not wish for us to link your AMV entry, please PM me to let me know.
I think I covered everything. Great contest guys, and we look forward to next year when we can purchase even nicer trophies and get a larger room (registration was much, much higher than anticipated, thus giving us an even bigger budget).
