Done To Death! An AMV Graveyard.
Done to Death: The AMV Graveyard Where your mistakes come to die.
The video is Finished!!
Done To Death!
Alright, here it goes. We’ve all done it, we’ve all been guilty of it. Making an AMV that bit it big time, then posting it online and forcing the rest of the world to watch it.
Well, here’s your time to shine!
Basically, this is a contest of the worst of the worst, and instead of winners, we are calling the people that triumph in each round “Losers” Now, I know you are already digging through your old files, saying “I’ve got this bagged.” Still, this wouldn’t be a contest if people didn’t have to work for it. This is the time to put you’re creative skills to the test.
The contest will be broken up into many rounds. Each round will have a set criteria that needs to be met. I will list the details of each category when I put it up.
Believe it or not, this contest might take a little bit of creativity. The point of this is to make fun of all those crappy AMVs on the internet, but they tend to make fun of themselves and believe it or not they are a part of Anime society. Not the most enjoyable part, but a part nonetheless.
The general rules are as follows:
No pornographic or overly violent images!
If it can’t be on the org, it can’t be in this contest.
The initial judge will be me. The winner of each round will be the guest judge for the next, and a judge may not enter a round they are judging.
Multiple entries are permitted, and if your video fits more than one category, it may be resubmitted if it hasn’t already won.
Winner’s in each round will also get the honor of creating a headstone, and deciding how the video should die. (Details about this will be given to the guest judges as they are selected.)
In each round, the judging will be done on a specified point system, I will go through the submissions, and the Top 3 “Losers” will be given to the guest judge that will then pick the winner. (No reason to force someone through more than necessary.)
In each round, there will be a certain “Wild Card” that will only be known by myself, and the guest judge at the time. If anyone happens to create the “Wild Card,” they will automatically go onto the guest judging, along side the “Top 3”
Each clip should only be long enough to get the point across. I want them under 1 min, but will allow a window of a few seconds.
At the end of the contest, the winning and most notable videos will be placed into a compilation production, where they may or may not be subject to alteration to fit the style of the overall video.
Please, do not post your videos on the org, or anywhere else if you can avoid it, this is a cry to stop forcing the world to watch this crap.
Ok, now that that mess is out of the way, If you think you have what it takes you can send your submissions to AMVgraveyard@gmail.com
Be sure to include:
Your username at the org
How you would like to appear in the credits.
The category you are entering (Cause sometimes it’s hard to tell)
A return e-mail, if it is different than the one you are sending from.
I will send each entry a return e-mail as I personally view the entry. If there are any problems I will let you know. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within two days, then assume that I did not receive it and send a regular written e-mail, explaining the problem, and I will respond accordingly.
If the attachment is too big for your e-mail account, you can send it with an internet service such as http://www.yousendit.com/
If I missed anything or you have questions please let me know.
The officail site where the winner will be posted each week is here:
http://www.angelfire.com/indie/amvgraveyard
Please bookmark this thread, because it may easily get lost in postings.
Thanks!
This contest is currently over, and awaiting a projected release date of 10/31/06 for the final video. Thank you to all who particpated!

Special update for all "Losers"! As an added bonus, you will get to beta test the initial video once it has been put together. I want the opinions of everyonee involved before it gets posted on the org, and since this contest had no real prizes I thought this might be a way to thank you for all your hard work. Wouldn't want to have you put something into this only to see the final product and be completetly disappointed.
Thanks!

Hopefully you'll get some good entries on this; the link to the demonstration video's not working, but I've got a fair swack of fansubs with TV clocks on them and a bizarro song that's almost short enough. Hopefully I can knock out my current project then get something kicked together by deadline.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

Credits!
I started a Wiki where I will be posting the names of those participating in the contest.
IF you've entered a video, and do not appear in a round that you entered please let me know. I will update names as I receive entries. This is a backup system of making sure that your entry was recieved, just in case you forgot to leave a return e-mail address. A more detailed one will be created at the end of the project, with video and audio sources listed, so keep track of what you send in and make sure I don't leave you off!
Thank you!

Subtitle Contest
Okay, now I have a video that was PURPOSELY made with subtitles before this contest was ever announced. It is HILARIOUS!!!
But, the bad thing is...(it's 10 minutes long...). You say, "1 min. or thereabouts," I say, "Darn."
But, it's up to you. Please download my video and decide whether or not YOU want it in the contest. If not, you'll still get to see a pretty funny video (and leave an opinion! ).
The name of the video pretty much gives away the idea of it:
Video: Final Fantasy VII - Lessons in Subtitles: The Good, the Bad, & the EGADS!!!
Username: niji tsuki
Appear in credits as: Rose Studios
Category: Take a wild guess
Return email: rosesisters2@hotmail.com
To save you time, just click here.
