Otakon 2008 AMV Contest

I Attended Otakon this year and saw the amv contest, and basically I loved what I saw. Problem is in the rush of leaving the hotel we were staying in on Sunday morning I lost the list of the videos that competed. So what I'm asking is, if someone still has the list can you post what videos competed in the contest. Please and thank you.

The first post lists all of the vids that were in the finals. However the Trailer/Parody category was eventually dropped from competition due to legal complications.

Thats what i was asking for. Thank you very very much Cyanna. By the way I started searching some of these videos up and not all of them are on a-m-v.org some are on youtube and other places. So what i'm going to do is use the list add links and specify where you get what, and more specifically if its downloadable or not. So thanks again for the intel.

k, now next year will be my first year there and at any anime-con. so when i enter my amv. and what are the rules by the way? and do all the finalists get there vids shown on the big screen? I mean i don't think i'll get first place but i have a tiny chance of getting into the finals. i'd be thrilled if they show my amv.

I can't tell if that was a question or an adverbial clause...

You'll have to wait for the coordinators to post them. You can find last year's rules here; if the coordinators come back for this year (and I hope they will), then the rules will very likely be very similar.

and do all the finalists get there vids shown on the big screen?

EVERYONE who enters (and doesn't get disqualified) gets his/her video shown on the big screen. Even RehDogg. It's just that the finalists are shown during the main contest showing blocks, while those who didn't break are shown during overflow. Last year, there was no set schedule to the overflow blocks, so there was no way to know when your video would be shown; however, if you went up to the coordinators and requested your video, they'd queue it up for you.
