The Competition is open internationally, although those wishing to participate in the AMV Iron Chef competition (details still to be announced) must be physically present at the convention.
Until this year, this competition had been the pet project of Infinity Squared from Amvience. Since he has stepped down from the organising committee after many long years of service, I've taken up the mantle under his guidance. If you want to submit online or you've got any questions, feel free to ask them here or drop me an email at amv@manifest.org.au
Entry deadline is August 1st 2009. Any AMV created after August 26th, 2008 is eligible for entry.

Re: Manifest 2009
You should probably request to have this moved to the "AMV Contests" section. More people who are looking to enter contests will see it there.

Re: Manifest 2009
Thanks guys. I suppose it's because I'm a little new to this. The Org is BIG...
Oh, and Catapult = me, only for some reason the org said that name was taken when I tried to register. So Oversized Slingshot it is. ^_^
Also Autraya, it's in August, not October.

Re: Manifest 2009
Some of you may have noticed the "best in theme" catagory for judging.
Manifest has just announced our 2009 theme at our "Minifest" convention held before Easter. Our theme for 2009 is "Looking Back." That's a rather broad theme and all entries are automatically considered for this catagory (as well as all other catagories too).
Please start getting those entries in. Online submission can be as simple as pointing me to where you've uploaded it. Let me know what you would like.

Re: Manifest 2009 - 2 week warning
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Please return to your seats and fasten your seatbelts as we are expecting a little turbulance.
That's right, I'm expecting the usual rush of entries in the last two weeks before the deadline of August 1st. That's two weeks to go from this Saturday.
Remember, Australian Eastern Standard Time applies, so many of you awesome editors of the US may want to treat it like a July 31st deadline.
Sadly, FTP submissions have fallen through this year. If people want to submit over the internet, I'd recommend sending me (amv@manifest.org.au) a megaupload.com link to your file or simply referencing it on the org's files if the org has the quality of entry you're happy with. Alternatively, snail mail of DVDs works as well. Said entries can either go to our PO Box mentioned on the website or to:
Suite 1, 10a Atherton Rd
Oakleigh, VIC 3166
AUSTRALIA
Remember, any AMV made after August 26th 2008 is eligible for entry.
PS - Applications to be an Iron Chef AMV challanger or a judge for either competition close at the same time. The heat will be on!
PPS - We're friends with AVCon. They may do trophies, but we do medals.
