Re: Vent Thread
So, I was excited this morning, because I learned how to crack a bike lock. Out of context, that sounds bad, so I'll add that I bought a new bike some months back and we had an old lock to which I couldn't recall the combination. Anyway, I successfully cracked it, so I finally decided to take my bike for its first spin today... only to realize that I can't get on it.
See, I'm fat, and I figured that a normal bike wouldn't hold my weight securely, so I looked for one that was more specifically made for it. Include the fact that I was on a tight budget ($150 or less, and that was pushing it) and my choices were limited. So, I ended up getting one that was quite large, but the reviewers said it wasn't made for a tall person, so I didn't think that mounting the thing would be an issue. Wrong. I couldn't get my leg over it without practically turning the bike horizontal, and getting it upright again is a joke. My other foot could barely touch the ground halfway up. Forget difficult, that's just not safe.
So now I don't know what to do. I wanted it in order to get to and from a potential job (which I still don't fucking have), but also so that I could, you know, stop being FAT. There's no way I can ride it, thin or not. The only thing I can think of is to give it to my brother as a birthday present. It would be perfect for him, since he lives in a bigger city, but he doesn't have a license/car. A bike would be a great help. Hell, he'd even have a lock to go with it.

A recent draft into new accounting laws could possibly [and probably] make my entire last semester in one my accounting classes obsolete and worthless. >:|
To add to that, it's a 64 page monstrosity of legal jargon that we have to decode and analyze by Wednesday.

Re: Vent Thread
the guy in the room above mine (in the upper unit of the duplex) has found a squeaky spot on the floor, and has decided to rock back and forth over it.

I had a really good friend who had it, it sucked for him bad. The worst thing you can do is stress out over it more. Get a lot of rest.Enigma wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell%27s_palsy

It's magically gotten better over the past few days, so it's all good.ZephyrStar wrote:I had a really good friend who had it, it sucked for him bad. The worst thing you can do is stress out over it more. Get a lot of rest.Enigma wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell%27s_palsy

I was walking home from class today, halfway there it started to pour rain. About an hour after getting home I went to get my homework, and everything was wet. I now have $300 of damp programming, hardware and math textbooks... They'll dry, but I'm not happy...

It's hard to decide whether I'm excited or just frustrated about this Giddens sociology textbook that I have to read for a course. It's over 1000 pages... Not to mention that I have to read two more books for the exam of the same course.
It's all good. This is what I'm interested in...at least what I keep telling myself!
