There are plenty of us (well, me and ithaqua, at least) who enjoy the tortured sound of :wumpscut: . We both drop the name on a rather frequent basis.

:wumpscut:, I'd classify more as dark techno-industrial than EBM.

Yeah, dark and gothy stuff. Sue me.

I prefer "Mental Maelstrom" to Parasite God myself. The bass sounds better in my car.

And it is :wumpscut:, not Wumpscut.

If it's EBM you're after, go pick up the latest issue of Keyboard Magazine. It had a whole section with interviews of cEvin Key (Skinny Puppy), Daniel Myers (Haujobb), Patrick Codenys and Daniel B. (Front 242), Joakim Montellius (Covenant) and a few others.

I've been all about the Snog recently. Great stuff. Especially "The Prole Song"
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

Yeah, I'd still rather listen to VNV Nation...or maybe Miles Davis.

Personally I prefer installer music from hacks. Nothing beats repetetive noise. Also anything in the speedcore category of 10,000+ bpm catches my attention.

emperor is unknown? I know their cd's are always marked up as improts ... but i always figured that was becasue HMV's run by cash cows ... like everything else.

but eya ... unknown band. I guess you guys are looking for metal bands ... but odds are you'll like this stuff if you have some tollerance for somethign a bit different.

Martyr Diablos Martyr or MDM if you will. A local band from a city near me. industrial/electronic. If you go to their site their entire latest album is available for downlaod. I suggest you try out Bitter Christ and Dark Star. personaly i think these guys are a pretty cool band.

i should problaby start a new thread for this, but hell, give me some feed back and tell me what you guys think of them. And no i'm in no way affiliated with them. Unlike Jace Tsunami i don't have a cool job like that.

In the general metal world, Emperor is pretty unknown especially compared to Slayer and all them. But in the death metal world, Emperor is one of the most well known, I guess. :?

I also forgot to mention After Forever and Within Temptation. Sharon Den Adel has one of the best female voices in the music industry... in my opinion anyway.

By the way, this thread is open to other genres than metal. :P We just kind of overran it with metal bands. I do like industrial/electronic though, so keep up those suggestions.

Hocico does some good stuff. Practically the Mexican :wumpscut: .
OOMPH! isn't entirely unknown, but they do some good industrial rock.
Zeromancer is a good industrial pop rock band.
Also check out Assemblage 23. Nice EBM/darkwave.
