If You just accept music for what it is and what most use it for, Entertainment, you will find that yes there are all different types of visual entertainment for the masses and all people are able to choose what they watch and usually don't have to defend it. So why can't it be the same with the music. Just accept that others like different things and if they want, they can stay nieve about different music. We can all just let them float in their own ways. Oh yeah if you didn't notice I listen to almost all music. Give it a chance, I always say and if it is not your cup of tea, Move on

One point I'd like to add is that I'm not very attracted to lyric-driven music. In fact, I'm not attracted to lyrics at all unless they're really excellent in a poetic sense. So, vocal-driven music where the vocals are made out to be anything more than another instrument is sort of lost on me.

That's just an aside to the point regarding your consistent support of your arguments with references to lyrics, vocals, etc. I live in an instrumental world, and Rap doesn't even go there. Words for me are just another sound.

So, I realize why you don't like the suggested types of music son_goten. Please realize why me, Vlad and a few others aren't persuaded by your reasoning - people aren't the same. It's obvious that what you hear in music is something we might not hear, and I'm by now certain you don't hear what others might hear.

Why 'fuck' anything? Can't we all just get along? It's obvious you're not going to make people (including me) very happy by saying that this or that music sucks, and that's it. I gotta say that, for what you're looking for in music, you won't find much better than rap. And for what I'm looking for, rap doesn't even approach adequacy.

Which is why I said before that I'm less concerned with what people listen to and more concerned with why.

I like punk mostly, i listen to about everything, but when it come down to it punk roxs my face off, such as rufio, allister, goldfinger, the early november, yeah yeah yeahs, something corporate, dashboard, savestheday, gob, get up kids, brand new, homegrown, and relient k, jsut to name a few

oh also sex pistols, velvet underground, ramones, the clash
