but i downloaded one of his song and that quality sucked so much balls that i could'nt hear what he is playin'/singin'
3.lol
Ok, though your definition of posers must differ from mine.
Mine definition of poser: One who can not sing or play well, but thinks they can, and anyone who thinks the most important thing is how much money you show off, or shiny things you have (aka bling bling).

1. Don't post ignorant statements. there is nothing to back that up. Now if you wrote "I think" or "In my opinion", that would be different. It would be expressing your opinion and not be trying to sway others with a lost cause.
2. Yeah, there's alot that in my opinion (and in a majority's) that suck. But I don't know that till I listen to it. So you really can't say if it sucks or not till you've listened to it.
Oh and I'm sure Tupac is NEVER wrong. Right.....
3. See? I told you they make a cool sound when you ruffle them.
By the way, do you have a sheet fetish? You seem to talk about them quite abit.....
son_goten wrote: i don't get why do you find them more impressive 'cause there are very impressive rap instumentals with pianos drums giutar or any instument you want
Do any of them use the Drumbone, the Cimabalon, or the Tubulum?
son_goten wrote: so may you tell me why do you find these instumentals more impressive?
More skill to play. Tons of skill to play impressively. Anyone can talk, but not everyone can play an instrument.
Sometimes, a song doesn't need any words at all to convey any particular meaning. You can just close your eyes and imagine.......
Unless you forgot how to do that :?

Well, I wouldn't be so harsh...

As for the impressiveness of instrumentals, to answer your question directly:

We're talking on completely different scales here. I mean, I'm not impressed by basic pop-rock instrumentals most of the time, either. My taste in instrumentals is definitely one that leans to the outer edges, to very weird, metrically and harmonically complex music.

So, if you want to go there, let's talk in objective, measurable terms for a second. If you're so confident that I'm wrong, do find objective proof to prove me wrong. Find me something from within the rap genre that can be, by exact calculation, considered more metrically, or compositionally, or in terms of integrity in live performance, more impressive than my personal favorite 'rock' instrumental - King Crimson's 'Fracture'.

Now, I realize this is a rather poor move on my behalf (both to bring in the 'numbers' and a highly pretentious example), but hey - I'd like to see some facts!

By the way, and I say this again, my problem is neither with you liking rap or rap itself. My problem is with you making a far-reaching generalized subjective judgement and then trying to pass it off as objective truth.

"Rap Instrumentals"

Post by ithaqua » Fri Apr 16, 2004 2:34 am

Teargas & Plateglass

A duo that fuses a heavy hip-hop sound with the grace of ambient music. They call it "illbient", but I would describe it more as trip-hop gone badass.

A couple free legal tracks, just scroll down a bit.

I wouldn't consider this comparable to KC, but it is good.
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.
the only rap song that I actually like: "Hey Ya" by Outkast
Actually "Hey ya" by Andre 3000 is a pop song not rap.

:D

See? Thanks.

Actually, I was sort of gonna say not so much strictly 'rap', but 'anything outside avant-garde and classical streams' - but I guess that would be too broad. Judging by what I'm hearing, I could actually place this into something like 'avant-garde hip-hop'.

And you know what, I'm listening to 'Book of Black Valentines' now, and I'm enjoying it. Of course, metrically, this is no Fracture, but the textures are rich, the looped beat is used interestingly, and it works. And whoever said music is measured?

'Adagio for Tandems Stacked' - again, Japanese voice somewhere in there, cool textures, good use of effects and percussions loops. My tendency is to place this sort of music under 'avant-garde hip-hop'.

FoolThemAll:
Yes they don't know what they're doin' vocally
and if the instrumentals are so great then why don't ui gimme some
to check out
and yes they are 'posers'
they lyk so wanna-be bad
as bad as let's say snoop dogg
Otohiko: sometimes i do enjoy only the music that's a good point
btw may i say that i really enjoyed yo' amv and that he is a good one
(i don't judge by the song [although it wasn't that bad])
i don't find the only solution in rap there is reggae that i'm sure u'll like it
and some other sheet like : Rock/Pop iz really dumb and is musiclly SUCKS!
well most of it sounds like sheet and that's why i do not even bother finding great bands
Moonlight Soldier:
I CAN support them and i coulddd even tell yah why and how i hate Rock/Pop
Kai Stromler:
you hav'nt even seen sickness
there are rap-artist who are dissin' so hard
that's unbelieveable
but wwhat's funny iz when i tell metalheadz that it's a fact that rap artists are really what they say they are
then they say : "these thugz!"
every bitch can scream that's just sstupid they are not "mobbin'"
Vlad86:
that's a part of the definition of posers but it's not all
and the part on how much money you show off isn't that right
Shiny Thangs:for god's sake 'rap' iz not just 50 Cent!
i made my theorys based on a group of a LOT of 'Rock' singers
and believe it or not i used to hear a little bit of metal and then i found the right path
'cause it's all lies, and sounds like crap
1.it's not ignorant it's the godamm truth!and i can back it up!
2.Yes,i heard some metallica or wha'ever his name was ansd it's stupid as fuck
did you listen to some real rapperz?
Nope!
the Only Rapperz you know are the onez that are on MTV and other sheet like that
check out some unda'-ground rapperz and real rapperz
and btw which of them suck? gimme a list and explain why
and Tupac can be wrong he is humen like all of us(even that i'm not sure about that he can be an angel that hidez and act like a humen being)
but anywayz this is was his job then he must know some good sheet
3.lol,i love sleepin' k?

i don't have any idea if they use them cause i never heard of these instruments
but they could have used it and i didn't know that

it's not just talkin' it's rappin'
and they do get artists to play the instumentals or play it themselfs
and i can tell u something really nice that i saw while watchin' a video by "Nas"
called "I Can"(The Instumental is a remix of a mozart instrumental with a beatbox)
i saw a lil' girl from the ghetto playin' very impressively! the instumental

I kan k1ck h1s muh-phawkk1n azz
l0l

btw you asked before about tupac helpping the ghetto and other Charity made by real rapperz

"Tupac had always been involved in charity, both him and Suge Knight had handed out turkeys to less fortunate families for Thanks Giving.
Tupac had plans to make calendars of himself and other stars and donate the proceeds to charity. He also wanted to set up a youth Base Ball league in California, where all the participating kids had to be drug and crime free, and be doing well in school. He hoped to tour the schools and set up free concerts for the students, where only B average students could attend. Tupac also had plans to set up youth house throughout the ghettos, where homeless teens could find a place to stay, food, and support. He also had plans for a 1800 number for troubled teens to call and be able to talk to someone, including himself. Tupac also wanted to build community centers with sports facilities for youths to use, such as basketball courts, in a hope to keep them off the streets."

this is from a well known big tupac site
the things there are true
even afeni shakur(tupac's mother) said that this site is good
flint_the_dwarf: Tupac made the East Coast 'N' West Coast war
he didn't "creat" the coasts
Otohiko:
i'll find something lyk this song but i need to download it first
and it's slow
and btw do you want just the instrumental or do you care for voices?
