Black Sabbath and the bands like them in the same genre basically started metal, so pffta.

and yes, that list was a bit biased, but you dont need to freak out about it!!! ppl have their own opinions, and their own likes and dislikes, and OTHER ppl dont need to be SO damn oppinionated.

fyi: the freakin' 80's was all ABOUT sex, drugs, and rock and roll! besides, you dont need to blame Motley Crue for wanting chix, they ARE men for christ's sake.

I mean, music is so vast nowadays that its really hard to stick anyone in a certain genre. Take rock for instance, there are so many different kinds of rock its crazy!!!

Just in case you were expoling with rage in my direction in you post, I like all the bands I mentioned. Note that Brittany Spears is NOT a band.

If you were though I have know idea where you got some of that from to rant about.

Any way if a TV channel is making a list they should try not to bias. They'll lose ratings that way.

This isn't the first list VH1 has sent into the crapper either.

In another topic I mentioned that it was stupid to put Oprah as the number 1 celeberty.

I mean come on, she is talk show host. How do you get so much fame by association that you're more famous than those you interview.

So this means the difference between VH1 and MTV is this; MTV sucks and VH1 blows. ....or maybe the other way around.

Even VH1 can't sit there and ignore the creation and defining moments of a genre like Black Metal. Hell, MTV has made several references to how truely brutal Black Metal is. Not that their opinion will ever matter, but they BEST fuckin' rekunyz.

I agree with you on the list about 200 Greatest Pop Culture Icons thing, why would anyone in their right mind put freakin Oprah as #1, out of 200??????

not to burst anyones bubble or anything, but VH1 is probably watched by younger kids too, so the peeps at VH1 need to make sure that the "metal moments" or "shocking moments in rock" arent too graphic for that younger demographic that might be watching, cuz that too will bring ratings down.
