Look, pal, I suggest, from now on, that you tell us who you're talking about in the message rather than as a post subject, since most people don't read the post subjects of any posts other than the first of a thread. That aside, your post didn't make any sense at all without looking at the title of your individual post. Only a few of us know Malmsteen well enough to know he has both a song and a side project called Rising Force.

Anyway, I don't think Malmsteen is the greatest guitarist in the world. Not by a long shot. Although he is really good.

Its hard to say who is the greatest guitarist in the world because im sure malmsteem cant play like hendrix or michael romeo cant play like buckethead.

Rata Blanca is your typical general power metal band. Hell, they have big inflatable dragons in their stage backdrop. They're awesome, sure, but there's definitely more appealing bands out there.

Meh, I've always thought debating the greatist guitarist (Duane Allman), bassist (Victor Wooten), drummer (Neil Peart), whatever is kind of moot...

For the most part, I'll scratch the surface on just about everything. But I really can't tolerate the guttural sreaming nonsense that seems to be going on in 'real' metal. Sometimes they use it tastefully, but I'm constantly finding myself in a sea of dinosaur noises, bleh.

On the whole, I'm more into the prog scene (Tool, Yes, Rush, Coheed & Cambria) than any other of the metal divisions, aside from the original Megadeth and Metallica. Dream Theater's vocals are painfully pretentious, as is that damn keyboard player. DT would be perfect without those two morons clouding up Myung, Petrucci, and Portnoy's talents.
