yet another cd recommendation question!
This is what you ppl get for having such vast musical knowledge. My cd club decided to hand me a bunch of free cds, and I can't decide what to order! I don't get good radio reception at school, so I have no clue what's out there anymore! I like a wide variety of music: Godsmack, The Offspring, Enya, Fiona Apple, among others. I've also fallen in love with the song Shell from Witch Hunter Robin. I've given up on finding their cd anywhere, so can you recommend a similar american artist? Sorry about all of this, but I really need all the help I can get! The joys of going to school in a small, mountain, redneck town! Thank you so much!! *kisses and hugs to all*
When I grow up, I want to be just like me!

Similar to "Shell"? That's gonna be tough...truely lyrical female leads seem to be a rarity nowdays.
Witch Hunter Robin OST IS available here in America, but likely not from a CD club.
I'm kind of off the standard stations for music too, as of now (best station in this area plays metal and modern rock).
Good female singers (IMO):
Natalie Imbruglia (bit old)
Sarah McLachlan (bit old)
...crud I can't think of any more modern one's names.

If you like Enya, you'll probably go for music by Loreena McKennit. It's a Celtic sound, but more traditional than Enya's.

I'm agreeing with the American Idiot post. "Blvd. Of Broken Dreams/Holiday" should have been the first single...
As for other albums:
Anything by AFI (mostly Black Sails In the Sunset)
I just got "Good Mourning" by Alkaline Trio...good for a good Emo break.
And, personally I like Anti-Flag...it may be a bit too...erm, punk? Sorry, Im just judging based upon your other post
