I never listened to Pantera all that much, but Farlo got me listening to them.

It's always sad to see a someone die who was always an awesome contributer to the Metal genre.

Shortly before DAMAGEPLAN took the stage at the Alrosa Villa, a man approached the band's bus behind the North Side nightclub. He wanted to know if lead guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and his brother, drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott, were onboard.
Aaron Barns, the heavy-metal group's sound man, told him the brothers had already gone in the club.
"The next time I see him, he's walking behind the bass player and singer right over to Dime," Barns said yesterday.
As the band played its opening song Wednesday night, the man rushed across the stage and grabbed Darrell Abbott, firing several shots into his head from a Beretta 9 mm semiautomatic handgun.

ok this is creepy, i saw Damageplan when they were on tour with Disturbed in nj in a nightclub not too long ago...
This sucks, anyway, this is probly done on purpose, but nickelodean played the episode of spongebob with pantera music today

Damnded psycho fans...would you really shoot the guy just 'cause he left Pantera? He "ruined my life" (my refering to the shooter)...Scary thing was I just read an article about this in the local paper...about 20 seconds before I logged on.

yes, pantera is the only metal band...sort of that i really liked alot, its sad to see he got killed. im just glad they served justice and killed the murderer...

yeh i heard about this. it is messed up just that someone would do this. not just one shot but multiple out of a 9mm. gosh
