References to anime in songs (own or others')
I know I've seen a thread on this general topic, but I can't find it, so I'm starting a new one. Anything that could possibly be construed as a reference is acceptable in my book ( Iron Man is an example of a oblique reference {to Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, ie the "God Warriors"}), but what ever you want. Also, feel free to post any anime songs that you have written: I'd love to see 'em, and I'm sure others would to ...

In some Chingy song which name I've thankfully forgotten he intimed that he'd like to "connect like Voltron" with a girl.

"They be like he the man when I'm really a Thundercat
Come on you know the tics connect like Voltron
Collect so much grass popo thinking we mow lawns
My gohans don't match that"
Here we also see Thundercat and Gohan...
Although I don't know if that's is a reference to DBZ at all.
On the subject of Voltron, it seems rappers love the show:
Source. In some interview wrote:It's obvious that you're setting trends as a black/white rap duo. Besides that, what makes your music so different from other artists out there?
Poet: "It's just got flavor. We try and incorporate everything in our music style, going with a little down South feel like Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz to the griminess of the East coast to our own Midwest flavor, giving everybody something to groove to. That's why we blend together so well. We got two different styles. You don't see that a lot. I'm straight grimy and raw, and he's (MD) laid back but still dope. We just connect like Voltron."
Source. Some site wrote:That's why the Wu-Tang Clan would always say "Yo, we gonna connect like Voltron." All of them get together and make this ultimate machine which is Wu-Tang.
People can watch anime all their lives without knowing it was anime.

I hate bursting bubbles in general, but it should probably be noted that Black Sabbath put out Paranoid (which contains "Iron Man") in 1972, while Nausicaa was not released until 1984. There is probably not a causal relationship involved in either direction.Konohamaru wrote: Iron Man is an example of a oblique reference {to Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, ie the "God Warriors"})
As for anime songs, well......

Hes probably got a bunch of others, along with stuff off the regular Wu Tang albums but this is the only one that comes to mind
