There's always Foetus.
Just type that into Amazon and follow the reviews. I'd recommend the two Scraping Foetus Off The Wheels albums, but "Flow" is more accessible.
On the other hand, Joy Division is pretty f'in bleak. "Love Will Tear Us Apart" being the classic, although I go more towards "Colony".
Coil wins the dark spooky contest. The only problem being that you probably won't like them. Which is unfortunate. They did do some really good Nine Inch Nails remixes, especially on the "Fixed" album.
Finally; there's ohGr. Like Skinny Puppy, without the noisiness.

your probably looking for some moody death metal about eating people or sacraficing farm animals to pegan gods or some shit. but i think of bands like crass when i think of dark music (sorry, been listening to them for like 3 weeks straight now so they come to mind quicker). CRASS are the founders of "anarcho punk." no pegan gods, but the band has written songs with vivid descritiptions of rape, decaying bodies, and other stuff in order to fight stuff like war and sexism.... blah blah blah, i could probably write a better description if i wasnt at school, but CRASS is a whole lot darker then alot of so called dark and moody bands cuz they mean every word they say. you should get their album penis envy, or feeding the 5000 if you wanna check them out. i just got the album stations of the crass and i've been listening to it for a long time now.
my journal thingy.

i know of, and have an awesome gothic love song. its somewhat dark, and the women who made it evidently had a seriously unhealthy obsession with some guy, but the melody and rythem are killer, and very "catchie".
Even if the voices in my head aren't real, they have some Damn good ideas, you're just jealous because they only talk to me.

Angel Dust is an awesome, dark, moody band. 2 of my fav. songs from them are "I Need You" and "Sanity". Simply fucking awesome.
