Does anybody like video game music?
I run a sheet music site here http://vgmt.adultswimhq.com
I have all of your favorite video game tunes. Don't have it? Request!
Unfortunately, I have hit a slump when it comes to hits...the traffic is not coming. Do any of you seasoned experts have any tips on how to gain new users? Any help or comment is greatly appreciated
I am desperate for any help.

The PNG files won't open in Photoshop CS or Imageready, that poses a bit of a problem. And I quote, "PNG bitmaps are not yet supported"
Also, the selection seems limited as a whole, just b/c there's only a couple dozen games. Did you do all of these by yourself?
Finally - this thread might get locked/deleted because free sheet music seems like one of those Could Be Illegal things. You most definately couldn't post, say, Final Fantasy sheet music, because I know they actually sell the scores here...

I try and specialize in sheet music that you cannot find
These are NOT scans, they are transcriptions from midi using a music program
I also do not know why you couldn't view PNG files...they're rather basic image types...I have no idea why you wouldn't be able to view them
I will not be putting Final Fantasy series sheets because they are easy to find and buy. I try to get rare sheet music that nobody really considers
It should not be illegal because I handmade every single one of them (almost, a few are sumissions)

*raises eyebrow* Are you at least checking how they sound actually played before you post them? Some MIDIs interpret things very differently.Iamnotyou wrote:I try and specialize in sheet music that you cannot find

People handmake fansubs, they're still illegal. You don't own the rights to the music, therefore you don't own the rights to distribute the music in audio or written form.It should not be illegal because I handmade every single one of them (almost, a few are sumissions)

Fansubs and transcriptions are different things. It's not like I'm distributing the mp3's on my site. The reason fansubs are illegal is they distribute the video and audio that the company made
The transcriptions are mine!
Also, with regard to accuracy. I've either played all the source games or have several midis to get a general idea of what belongs
Next, please send a midi along with a request for a piece from this generation of consoles. These midis are a chore to hunt down when I can just go to VGMA and pull older midis off. That's why I specialize in OLDER sheet music

The Resident Evil series has great music. Also Silent Hill, but RE is my fave. I guess I just like all the creepy music in the game world.
