Listen to any Pearl Jam?

Try some of their earlier works like "Nothingman" or " Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town"

Or maybe Modest Mouse "Blame it on the Tetons"

RadioHeads "Fake plastic trees"

Slipknot's (YES SLIPKNOT) "Vermillion, Pt. 2"
...the problem I see a lot is that many good amv makers think they suck, and many bad amv makers think they're good.
I've seen it happen, man! I've SEEN IT!..

"Black" is one of their best and certainly most depressing songs.

Hey guys, long time no see.

Been dealing with a lot of depression lately (I have pulled out of it though), and was gonna make a depression cd.

Some very fitting songs include:

Hurt - Nine Inch Nails
Dirt - Depeche Mode
Goodbye Cruel World - Pink Floyd
Hell Bent - Kenna
Imagine - John Lennon
Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime - Beck

and the song that's just so wrong Me and little andy - Dolly Parton. That bitch is so going to hell for this song.

Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

It is sad and powerful.

Other Good Ones:
Guns N' Roses - Don't Cry
Guns N' Roses - Knockin' on Heaven's Door
Metallica - The Unforgiven

Iced Earth's Burt Offeringsalbum get's pretty depressing at some points. It's most depressing song is "The Pierced Spirit". I also reccomend Metallica's "Fade to Black" from it's Ride The Lightningalbum.

Doom-Metal.com

I can imagine My Dying Bride being good material for an AMV, their lyrics being particularly good, but would probably require editing due to length issues.

Forest Stream are great but again their songs may be too long.

New Anathema stuff is Pink-Floyd infuenced depressing rock, although I haven't heard much what I've heard is pretty good (I'm just finishing an AMV using Sentient off Eternity). Their old stuff is more Doom-Death like My Dying Bride.

Depressing music

Post by Miyuki Shinomuri » Fri Jul 01, 2005 6:38 pm

You needed dark, depressing music? You've got the right person.

Ohne Dich by Rammstein is pretty heavy. I don't know the whole translation, but the title means 'Without You.' As I recall it's about a guy who lost his love. 'Missing' by Evanescence is also really, really depressing.

I was going to put Welcome Home (Sanitarium), too, but I forgot the speedup halfway threw it.
