I like her music and she's got a good voice, but it tends to get a little bit too preppy for me. One of my friends calls her a punky preppy poser.

The songs that i really like by her are "Nobody's home" and "My Happy Ending." But i really dislike her new song "He wasn't"

So classification and labels are bad when applied to you, but for labelling everyone else, especially people you don't like, they're okay.

I was using that in reference to the way I dress suits me and Im not perky blonde nor bubbly so if I were to dress that way (ie: in bright or pastel colors, mini skirts, and purses) it would look wrong. Each to their own.

I didnt label them as preps or ditzy because thats what they would be called; the giggley blonde mall girls? they would be preppy... but they arent all like that... thus the non labelling. Thats my point. Not everyone fits the clichee, thats why labels dont work. A "goth" is supposed to be some anti social, black-clad kid into witchcraft drugs and cutting, A "gangsta" is some kid with a sideways hat, basketball jersy, pants hanging off his ass with a smoke in his mouth, A "prep" is a athletic or booky type with straight A's. Just because you dress the part doesnt mean your lifestyle is defined. I wear black, I listen to heavy music, Im not a witch I dont cut and I dont drink, smoke, or do drugs and Im 18 so I went through highschool as a "goth" without fitting into any of the stereotypes or falling for some peer pressure bullshit. Some people do fit them though... Im not denying that, but I dont think labels should be applied anywhere.. not just in clicques but in ethnic groups too.

Theres a group of hispanic kids that hang around together in my school and people just call them the mexican kids, I dont like that either. I would rather wear a goth sticker than have people recognized by their ethnicities, and Im a white kid so I dont feel any rascism towards me at all.. I just dont like it, I dont think its right. BABBLING!! *stopping*

Weather you are a retarted labeler calling me a goth a poser or an emo bitch i dont care.
